Pros: generally helpful staff, nice breakfast in morning, free internet, $4 cab ride to old town or airport ... except in rush hour when it take 2-3x as long to get to either, clean no-frills room. I was at the Rio Amazonas for multiple one-night stays in Dec/Jan. The staff is very courteous and the hotel is spotless. The location is right on the edge of "gringoland", which makes it a bit noisy with the clubs/bars nearby, particularly on Saturday nights. I stayed here on a Gap Adventure going to the Galapagos Islands. It was the perfect location, close to a lot of nightlife.
