Other reviewers have complained about the noise, but it REALLY is noisy. We stayed two nights as a family of four on April 5 and 7, 2012. The first night was in Room 1. It had a great balcony with great views and the space was nice with three beds and hot water in the shower. The problem was the... More

The hotel has 5 rooms. 2 front the street - lots of noise. 2 of the 3 remaining have no hot water.

This small family run hostal is located in a traditional courtyard house, on a lovely colonial street. The house has been renovate, rooms have nice furnishings, hardwood floors and very nice clean bathrooms with showers..The owners are very friendly and helpful. On the day of my departure, Gloria was very nice and come early to prepare and serve breakfast for... More

This family run hostal in the heart of the Old Town of Quito was perfect for our needs. Hernan was there to collect us from the airport each time, provided us with a great tour to the Middle of the Earth etc and arranged for his daughter to take us for a fabulous tour to Mindo. (A must do!) We... More

For us, Hernan and Gloria are the face of Ecuador. Hernan took us around Quito, to Banos (overnight), and to Mindo. We also spent a day to Otavalo with daughter Kenya and Andres. We were treated with the greatest kindness and respect by all. Hernan patiently took us three times up the mountain to view Tungurahua, an active volcano. Although... More

We recently spent a couple of days in this Hostel.. all I can say is that it was the best choice.. Hernan and Gloria (the owners) are the greatest hosts, the service they provide is the best, we always felt like we were part of the family... The hostel organised the airport transfer, the house is located in the best... More

Beautiful location, lovely suites, delicious breakfast. Hernan, Gloria, Kenya and Andres made us feel as we were part of their family. I have never felt so welcomed while traveling. The pick up and drop off at the airport were very convenient and the trips that were arranged for us were fantastic. It was so much fun traveling with Kenya and... More

We visited Old Town Quito on our way to the Galapagos. We spent 4 nights at La Ronda Hostel, Hernan and his family were wonderful! They are very acccomodating in arranging transportation and personal tours. The rooms are very clean and breakfast was more than adequate. The Hot water is a little tricky it took 3 days to figure it... More

We spent several nights in this family owned hotel during our travelling through Quito to Galapagos, Oriente, and before our return back to Europe. The location of the hotel is great - directly in the center of Old Town. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They organized all our transfers to and from airport or bus station, made a... More

After researching hotels in Quito, I chose Hostel La Ronda solely because of it's location in the Colonial District. My first pleasant surprise was having been met at the airport by Herman at midnight to take me back to the hostel. Once I saw the area and the hostal, my first thought was that this was the perfect choice! My... More
