We wandered into this little gem one late Sunday rainy night after a long drive from Canoa.
We looked at a hotel close by on the main road but it was scary and I wanted to wake up in the jungle not on a busy muddy road with trucks rolling by all night long. We saw the sign for La Isla Hosteria and followed more small signs down a long dirt road, we almost gave up but kept going and came to a small suspension bridge going across a small river.
We crossed by foot as our driver was scared of driving across. We walked up to the outside restaurant and was greeted by a young lady who was happy to help us but wanted us to know it was an Eco lodge and not a star rated hotel. She was very frank about this and wanted to make sure we understood. The rooms are very basic, and she had the floor moped as we gathered our luggage, no mosquitos, but lots of other critters around, so maybe a little bug juice for a long stay would work if that sort of thing bothers you.
