My husband and I landed in Quito for our second stop in Ecuador. We read a feature in the New York Times recommending the restaurant at Hacienda Rumiloma, and after seeing the website we booked a room. When we got there, we found ourselves in one of the most beautiful rooms we'd ever stayed in. However the experience didn't nearly... More

Was in Quito for business for a few days and some friends took me to Hacienda Rumiloma for dinner. It's an adventure getting up to Rumiloma as it is way above Quito on the side of the Volcano Pichincha on a steep dirt road but that is part of the fun. We arrived right before dark so were able to... More

If you want a quite place, pinned against the mountains with stunning views of Quito stay or at least have dinner at hacienda Rumiloma. We stayed at various hotels in Quito and Rumiloma is way better than any other place. It is close to the airport ( 15 minutes), the telepherico and the old town but you feel you are... More

Saw this place in the nytimes right before heading out to Ecuador and had to give it a try. The drive to the place had me on edge, but upon arrival, I was greeted by friendly staff and an upscale, but comfortable atmosphere. Food and service was excellent. Menus are simply laid out in both english and spanish. There is... More

We were passing through Quito on the way to the Galapagos Islands and decided to stay for an extra day. One of our traveling companions had just been to Quito to climb and his guide introduced him to the restaurant at Hacienda Rumiloma. We called them and they sent two taxis to take us from downtown Quito to their mountaintop... More

I had been reading my quarterly newsletter from an adventure travel company I like (Geographic Expeditions, www.geoex.com) and they happened to briefly mention a hotel they had found in Quito, Ecuador: Hacienda Rumiloma. In looking at the Hacienda Rumiloma website, it looked like a fun place to visit for a couple of days. Making contact for reservations over multiple emails... More
