Lovely, well-run, clean and spacious hostel. Massive house with big spacious rooms with high-ceilings. Breakfast was delicious and a great opportunity to meet fellow travellers. Homemade jam is particularly good! I recommend staying here, in the heart of the beautiful part of Valparaiso. More

I stayed here with 3 friends in the upstairs apartment over New Year. The apartment was clean, bright and spacious. The owner was very friendly, marking places of interest on a map for us when we first arrived and recommending spots to watch the New Year fireworks. Breakfast was the real highlight - wonderful fresh fruit, bread and cheese left... More

The Hostal is in a nice (bit touristy and poshed) area of the city but if tou walk down 10 minutes from the hill you find "normal" Valpo life. The staff is welcoming and helpful and have suitable Tipps for every interest (such as a Heavy metal Bar, serious museums, golden crowded beaches as well as small lonely ones or... More

The Luna Sonrisa is a really nice Hostel. We stayed there for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. The walk up on the hill is really worth it, because the hostel is just great. For the first 2 nights we stayed in a double bed room with shared bathroom. The bathroom is really clean. The room is comfortable and... More

Highly recommended. We stayed 4 days in the upstairs apartment. It is large, clean, well furnished and stocked. There are 2 sleeping areas, plenty of seating, good size dining table, and nice kitchen. The apartment and common areas are very well maintained, and the staff are welcoming and helpful. The neighborhood, Cello Allegre, seems one of the more desirable in... More

Our group of three stayed in the ‘El Nidito I’ suite and loved it. The suite had a kitchen, living/dining room, bath and two sleeping areas. There was a great view of Valparaiso from bathroom and a view of the harbor from the front windows looking down the street. Breakfasts were excellent with a generous serving of fruit, bread from... Four of us (friends) stayed in the upstairs apartment in Luna Sonrisa for 3 nights in October 2011. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful (we were trying to find accommodation on a busy long weekend after leaving our booked accommodation which was terrible). They found space for four of us in the upstairs apartment, which had a great feeling... More

I had a lovely, relaxing, 4-night stay here after only intending to stay for 1 or two nights. The simple yet very delicious breakfast of freshly baked bread, fresh cheese, fruit, homemade jams and coffee was a welcome luxury compared to the usual bread and instant coffee affair of many Chilean hostels, and it was a nice start to the... We stayed in the upstairs apartment for a few days. Although the apartment is quite nice and would be great if you wanted to cook your own meals in the lovely kitchen, there were some other issues. We there in what is effectively winter and although it wasn't that cold outside, it was frigid in the apartment. Showering was miserable... More
