For starters, there is no way you can book a room online through a website, for the hotel doesn't have any. So it is better calling them in advance or maybe e-mailing them, I left the e-mail address below. The decoration is tacky, with medieval armors, old wallpapers, old/torn furniture and stuck closets. However, it only costs 70 dollars for... More

Stayed a week at Hotel Foresta. It is an old hotel, in a great location (the "Santa Lucia" Hill is just across the street, you are near subway stations, etc) and with great prices. Even though our room was near the kitchen (the hotel has a restaurant on the top floor), at about midnight all would be silent. The staff... More

I stayed at Foresta a few times when I came in and out of Santiago while traveling Chile. The location is great and the staff is super friendly. The room was quiet and comfortable. The hotel is a little threadbare, but for the price it's fantastic.

I discovered this hotel on Tripadvisor and stayed a week. It was great. I arrived unannounced and my bag was carried in to the small reception area, checking in was very efficient. The gentleman doing it was very pleasant and answered all my questions thoroughly. My room was, well, different, but not unpleasantly so. I had a small anti room,... More

I´ve stayed at the Foresta Hotel for most of my Santiago trips in the last couple of years. 1.- The rates are very reasonable, a room for two goes for around USD 65. 2.- Great location for Lastarria area, parks, restaurants, the new GAM art center and several other amenities. 3.- Four blocks away from two metro stations (line 1... This is not your average hotel; no big foyer, basic breakfast, no website, no tour desk, but a quirky hotel where every room is decorated in a different style that looks like it's straight from a flea market. Located close to two railway stations as well as the Mercado Central and main plaza. A beautiful park is opposite. Ask for... More

Right on the edge of the centre city, by the Santa Lucia Park, close to shops, attractions and supermarket. I felt safe as a single traveler, staff were friendly and spoke enough English to help me out. Breakfast was a little lacking (as was the somewhat harassed waitress serving it!) (white toast with one slice cheese, ham and some jam),... More

The Foresta Hotel is on the edge of downtown Santiago, and many snobs feel downtown is not the place to be. Nonetheless, I grew up there from 1948 to 1966 and is what I consider home. The residential and business outskirts are great; but at the Foresta you are within minutes of transportation to ANYWHERE and within walking distance to... More

I have to say that all the reviews already written say pretty much about everything about this hotel. It would be hard to find a better hotel at this rate in Santiago. It looks like it has stopped in time, since the decoration is old and the rooms are very big. Their inability to answer e-mails confirms this antiqueness also... More

Good cost-benefit This hotel is well located in the city center, near the “Cerro de Santa Lucia”. There are two subway stations nearby. The staff are helpful and always willing to help. There is one computer available for guests in the hall, but the connection is slow and expensive. There is a nearby restaurant, Squadritto, where you can eat beautifully!... More
