Do not stay at the Hotel Neruda. Sure, it has a great location. But the rooms are sub-par and the staff doesn't give a damn about your comfort. First night was okay. Checked out, saw the country, and am back 4 nights later. They've stuck me in a room with horrible noises in the ceiling that they've clearly worked on... More

The location of the hotel is great, however the service and facilities were poor. Staff at reception and security were not really helpful. They looked pretty bored and at times they were arrogant and rude. Breakfast was sad and there is not restaurant or bar area. Wireless Internet was only available at reception area and if there are many people... More

Vacationing in Chile when a family emergency required our quick return to the USA. Drove up fromTalca, arriving at Hotel Neruda at 11:00 pm on Saturday, 3/24/2012, and asked for one room for two for one night. Got the room, but was charged $260 US, which is substantially more than their highest advertised price. As I was unfamiliar with Santiago... More

Of all the hotels I've stayed at across the world, Hotel Neruda is THE worst hotel I've stayed in. We booked via Agoda and booked a standard room which seemed pleasant on the Internet - Unfortunately this was not the case. Besides the room being old and tired, with a dirty kitchenette, the aircon in our room did not work... More

Firstly, upon arrival we did not like the room we had been allocated so requested an upgrade. We were able to do this, after contacting our Chilean agent. I would recommend that you do not request a standard room as the standard rooms in this hotel are below standard. We have used standard rooms in other hotels in chile, which... More

Maybe one day Trip Advisor will get around to combining this thread with Apart Hotel Neruda which is the same place but with the wrong location on the map......One day.... I spent four nights here last month.....It is a strange sort of place, in fact I think it is two hotels in one, which explains some of the wild differences... More

This building was in need of remodeling. Plaster was cracking and everything looked worn. The beds were comfortable enough. It was difficult to figure out the elevator. It is in the direction of a U-shaped path from the check-in desk behind a door that resembled a closet. Then when I went back down the elevator, I had to use my... More

The hotel may be rated highly in one section, but we were put in the apartment side with a filthy hallway, exposed outlets, non operational phone, kettle with old water in it, and nothing available to eat or drink. When arriving internationally from a late flight, after spending two hours in immigration and customs, we did expect more. Everything is... More

This is a $30 a night hotel (at best). My company hosted a workshop at the hotel and pretty much everyone of our 40+ team had issues with their rooms (toilets not flushing, no hot water, no AC, etc.). But to make matters worse, the front desk services was disorganized, incompetent and often rude. Undoubtedly one of the worst service... More

Although better than its current tripadvisor rating this hotel is far from great. The lobby is nice and spotless. However, once you go into the corridors you start seeing the dust, badly fitted fittings and wallpaper peeling. The room was big(ish) with a comfotable bed. However, as spotted by others the water whilst having a shower varies wildly without moving... More
