The property is old and you can see that, especially in the bathroom - regardless of how well you clean it, old deposits and damage is visible. Towels should be replaced fir new ones, as you can see they're aged. I'm not 100% sure, but there either was no card payment possible or it was charged extra for payment by card, so if you're planning on paying this way, make sure you ask before. The location is pretty good. The neighbourhood around feels pretty safe and quiet. It's within 10 minutes walk to metro and 30 min walk to strict city centre. If you decide to walk, you'll stumble on some nice street art. There are few shops, restaurants and take-aways, close by. Staff are really friendly and nice; the cleanig was done to high standard. The bed was comfortable and Wi-Fi was of good quality and speed. We did not have all the cash needed for payment and we were not forced to pay up front, which was quite nice. If you want a room of your own with a private bathroom and you are on a tight budget then Hotel Angamos is great. The staff were lovely and were patient with my fumbling Spanish. It's family-run and only the son speaks some English. But hey, it's better than my Spanish. It's in a great location, it's clean and it's basic. I don't require anything else and it was lovely for me as a solo traveller. I was lucky in my room allocation because it was downstairs and had good wifi access. Other residents had to come and sit in the lounge area to get access. Breakfast is also basic, but it comes free with the room, so no complaints from me. When I told them I was a vegetarian ('soy vegetariana' is one of my limited Spanish phrases) they gave me extra cheese and held off on the salami. The coffee is instant, so I preferred to get tea. There are plenty of restaurants around as well as convenience stores and supermarkets. They were fine with me bringing in a pizza to my room for dinner. They let me put it in the fridge and have the leftovers for breakfast (even microwaving it for me). It's within easy walking distance of public transport and San Cristobál hill. If you want luxury, this isn't the place for you. But if all you want is a basic, clean bed, room and bathroom then this is fine. I really liked it.

Yes it is a very basic hotel, as it has no heating nor it looks fancy. For a reasonable price, the location is very good. It has hot water and the blankets keep you warm at night anyways. I gave it a higher rating because of the owner family. They were very nice and helpful and the younger guy can speak English.

This hotel sells the cheapest rooms with private bathroom in Santiago, both for single and double, and there is no complaint: you get an adequate room, there is wifi, it is clean, asimple breakfast is included and the staff is welcoming. Besides that, don't expect any luxury. The 2nd floor rooms are very hot during daytime.

This is a place for those looking not to pay much and have a good location. The problem is that the place is not really well organised, clean or attractive. The door might scare you: looks like an abandoned place. There are tools and pieces of things to be fixed out in the open as well. Also, the room had a broken wardrobe. On the good side, the location is good indeed, price is ok and staff is very friendly. Could easily be a good place if someone just decided "hey, let's make it better without spending much".

This is a super, great value hotel. It is quiet and clean and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The showers are powerful and always hot. The wifi is excellent. TV in the room. We stayed here for 5 nights and really enjoyed our stay.

I stayed at this place because I was looking for a break from the shared rooms of hostels, but next time I think I'll just pay more for a better place. The hotel is partially in open air-- on the second floor there's an open room and it leads straight outside. It looks like the place might be under construction, but I'm not sure. It looked very unfinished. Since I was here in September that meant that at night it was freezing. There were 5 heavy blankets on the bed and I used all of them and had to pull one over my head to stay warm. The hot water worked on the first night, but not on the second. It looks pretty bleak inside as well-- dirty walls, broken closet doors, and just very barren. Also, they don't take credit cards. I would not recommend.
