This is a perfect hostel if you want to stay in a backpacker's hot spot. But it's good even for older, more quiet sorts like ourselves - just ask for a room that's more quiet (if you stay near the bar, it could get very loud). The hostel is huge, and the house itself is pretty - an old colonial building... more

this is an excellent hostel with lots of travelers and dorms. its got a bar, all facilities and its even got a cricket net! definitely check it out! close to the city center and lots of night life, party or take it easy. other facilities include free net and wifi, massive kitchen, hot water, fully licensed. it is also one... more

The place is in Barrio Brazil, which quite evidently is the car-parts district.. spare parts shops of every car make line the streets in the area with a few dirty eateries in between. We had to commute to most of the intersting places of the city by taxi or metro as the neighborhood really has NOTHING to offer. The hostel... more

First things first, the place is cheap, but that didn't bother me. I arrived at 4am to a power blackout, but the guy at the desk was ready and waiting to let me in, and though he couldn't check the booking he believed me when I said I was sharing a private room with a another traveller who had already... more

One of my fave hostels in SA. Staff were friendly and great! Bar was so much fun. TV area great for chilling out. Lots of info on organised trips and Spanish classes for anyone who wants a helping hand in getting around South America. Very cute dog there! Organises day ski trips. Rooms and bathrooms are spotless. more

Excellent to have a place with this many attractive features (back yard, pool, bar etc) within 15min walk of the city center and convenient also to the bus station. I'm mid 40's so about double the age of most visitors but unlike the author of the one bad review on this page experienced no bad behaviour on the part of... more

This place is more than a Hostal. For $18,200 pesos (for a double room) a night you get a lovely clean room, arranged with antique furnitures and good beds. A wonderful garden with pool and bar as the different recreation rooms and courtyards, makes your stay much longer than intended. Very helpful service from the young girls that run the... more

Mentioned in the lonely planet and feel I lucked out. Have been back with my wife prior to moving to Chile to live and work. Sure, the kids traveling through smoke and drink, but they welcomed us as older travelers. Just didn't understand how we elected Bush twice. Neither do we. We didn't. The workers were great and very helpful... more

Dear Fellow Travelers, This is one of the worst hostals I have ever stayed in, and definitely the worst I have stayed in while traveling in Latin America. If you are a chain cigarette smoker and do not mind paying extra for everything (including towels even if you are paying for a room with a private bathroom), then this is... more
