I have stayed at the Downtown East for many times as it's something of a favourite local hangout for Singaporean students & families. The newer & more spacious rooms at Blk A & B are quite nice & clean. Facilities include xbox, microwave oven, fridge & a BBQ pit right outside your doorsteps.
Do ask for a ground floor room, I find it much more convenient.
Only problem was the thin pillows & mattress.

However, the resort is not so popular with tourists as it's out of the way from the main tourist areas like the Marina Bay & Orchard road. more
