Cleanliness - The rooms are clean enough for usage. There is house keeping everyday and they really make sure to tidy up the room. The only good thing was the location! Terribly noisy, and things not working. Appeared reasonably clean but mice were seen in our room on last night of stay. Lights (card operation) wouldn't work; air-con controlled by office (either on or off) and no temperature control in room so either froze or cooked. No hot water one day. Breakfast?? We were looking for a budget hotel in the middle of Singapore. This is exactly what the Bencoolen is! No frills, cheap and close to everything. Don't expect too much. But is is reasonbably clean and good value for money. more

Hotel Bencoolen is located less than a 10 minutes walk to either Orchard Road or Bugis Junction, which makes it centrally located and easy to get around.
