I stayed here for three nights in April/12 with four other people. The rooms were comfortable enough with a double bed and a bathroom. The rooms were air conditioned but be careful not to bump the power switch on the wall or you may just return to your room to find it as hot as outside. The bathrooms were okay,... More

Hotel Margot was billed as being an inexpensive choice, within the city and being centrally located. In terms of the location, it's true. It's located about half way down Jalan Jaksa, which used to be home to cheap lodgings. It's still affordable, but I'd much rather stay further away and have a nicer room or go for cheaper lodging. smack in the middle of the action at jalan jaksa...within walking distance of gambir railway station...sarinah and jalan thamrin is nearby too the hotel itself has seen better times, but all in all it's ok value for money I paid 240.000 rp for a room with ac, tv, hot shower, simple breakfast

Great price at $30/ night given the good location and generally expensive Jakarta hotels. But the tiny, old room with crappy bathroom was too much for us to bear and we left after one night. Would be fine for a backpacker

After a month in Indonesia we wanted to pay a bit more and get a nicer room to be more comfortable. But Hotel Margot was the worst choice ever. There was NO hot water, and the water coming out of the tap was yellow. When we told the receptionist about this he became very defensive and said we shouldve told... More

Althought centrally located the hotel is quite expensive when it comes to price/value ratio. For nearly 300 thousand rupiah you get a smallish air-conditioned room with a bathroom en-suite. The rooms are quite worn and have definitely seen better days. There are TV-sets and phones. In the double room probably half of the space is occupied by the bed. On... More

I stayed here for the final night of my Java trip. It is near the northern end of Jl. Jaksa with lots of restaurants & bars nearby and a 24/7 minimarket right across the street. The reception looks nice enough but already the staircase with its uneven stairs was not too nice - on top of that, the floor in... More

The Margot is one of the few midrange hotels in the Jalan Jaksa area and would be reasonable value for money if you could actually get any sleep! The live band next door starts at 11pm and finishes at 2:15am, at which point the drum and bass takes over. Perhaps the rooms at the back would have been better but... More

Stayed at Le Margot end of July 2010. The hotel it's is fine given that the price we pay per night was quite affordable. Certainly not the cheapest around Jalan Jaksa. The hotel have no lift, but we still requested for a room at the highest in the hope to avoid noises from the pub next door & noise from... More
