In the centre of the storm on Lockhart Rd in Wan Chai the Wharney is surrounded by bars and restaurants. Its close to the convention centre, MTR, shopping in Causeway Bay and Admiralty, and 2 stops from Central Hong Kong. The room is very typical of a 3 to 4 star hotel. Beiges and cream interior, ok bathroom ,desk chair... More

We stayed here for a few nights over new year, and had no complaints at all. the hotel is perfectly adequate, its just doesnt have much atmosphere or character. The rooms were comfortable, not overly big, but you expect that for Hong Kong. We didnt have breakfast included, and we thought about paying to have it in the hotel, but... More

Supposed to 4 stars but would probably give 3. Rooms tiny, 2 single beds in room but one is pushed up against the wall. Clean enough but looks tired. Asked for a higher floor to avoid the noise below which they did however the room had a connecting door to the next room locked obviously but quite noisy. The area... More

A very good value hotel situated in a colourful part of town. Our room was on the 17th floor and did have a rather strange lay-out. The double bed was situated against the wall and so this did present some difficulties. There was clearly enough space for the bed to be placed within the middle of the room, this would... More

I stay here often as I attend the Fairs at the HKTDC complex. Its a 5 min walk (almost completely under cover for those rainly Hong Kong days. Central enough if one wants to get out and about, surrounded by great convenience stores, deli's and fast food for the Foreigner who wants to eat something other than local cuisine. It... More

I go every year to the HK 7's and every year I plan to stay at the Wharney. It's a mix of location and entertainment with a good supply of ear plugs. Situated on Lochhart Road the whole area is bars and restaurants and so each Friday and Saturday night the whole area is party central, add an influx of... More

We took a gamble and booked a trip to Hong Kong for New Year three weeks before we flew. When we came to book a hotel we suddenly realised how expensive HK is. After much searching we came across the Wharney which was in a good location and within budget. Most of the larger hotels were charging £2000 for five... More

Firstly I'll start by saying this hotel is not all bad.. Its very central. Close to the Mtr.. And the lobby looks good. When you get to the room you'll find its very basic. The bathroom has a grubby and old look to it and the beds are hard as rock.. I like a firm matress but this one was... More

It seems that most reviews i read on this hotel were fairly accurate. The bed is as hard as rock, the room small with basic bed linen. The service was poor and the staff seemed decidedly sullen. The hotel was very busy and i assume this is sue to it's location. The location is great for those wanting to be... More
