JW Marriott was one of the first upscale, Western hotels in Chongqing. Now there are quite a few Western hotels here, but the Marriott remains one of our favorites. The service is superb, the rooms are well-appointed and clean, and the price is still better than that of most of their competitors. The restaurants aren't quite as good as they... More

Very well-run hotel. Very good food - breakfast and evening. Very friendly and efficient staff. One or two minor problems were dealt with courteously and effectively. One negative was the smoking in one of the public lounges where food was also available. The alternative place to get bar meals did not look appealing. The sauna never seemed to get hot... More

Internet service is kind of prerequisite for this hotel category but the service is terrible - too slow and connection breaks all the time. Localization, food, service is great. All kind of facilities around - supermarket, shopping etc.

When staying at JW Marriott You kind of expect to get nearly the best standard. Although this hotel might be one of the best choices in CQ it doesn't fully live up to to my expectation, eg the rooms air condition controls could be improved, the fitness area is also cmparable small with old machines. The good thing is that... More

It was nice, no doubt. But when you stay at a JW you think you'll get the best that Marriott can offer. This is not the case of the CQ JW. Nice "enough", decent rooms, and good service. Breakfast is good, but the lunch was spotty. Rooms adequate, but lacking temperature control. Great location for wandering around town.

This was my second stay at the hotel for two nights on business. The hotel style and decor is impressive as soon as you walk through the door and the check in staff are polite and efficient. The rooms are of a good size and clean with an excellent bathroom / shower. The hotel has a number of restaurants inside... More

Dear Runningman65 from Leicester, UK, Thank you for preferring JW Marriott Hotel Chongqing and we appreciate that you have taken the time and effort to post your experiences. I was especially pleased to read that our associates treated you very well. For the steaks we do indeed charge a premium compared to other restaurants in the city merely because they... More

I actually used to live in an apartment in the Marriott Chongqing (before it became a JW); at that time there was very little real-estate available to ex-pats who lived in the city. It was great to go back a few months ago to see how things had changed. Luckily the service is as good as ever and whilst it's... More

OK, it does help to be Marriott Platinum and score the big upgraded room and lovely breakfast and the Lounge. But our friends had a pretty awesome room for the price as well. We bought on line and the price was pretty great....we have payed more for a mediocre hotel. Most amazing thing about the hotel? The PANCAKES for breakfast... More

This was my first trip to China and I really enjoyed this hotel, where I stayed for 1 week for business purposes. It started with the staff being very warm, efficient and helpful. Hotel was conveniently located. I was a little disappointed in some of the services. The breakfast buffet was not very exciting. Many 4-star hotels in Asia provide a better breakfast. The fitness center was average.
