The first thing that struck me about Harbour Plaza Hotel was its great location in the central business district of Jiefangbei of ChongQing.Just a stone's throw away was a foodstreet that had all the local delicacies of the region with hawkers selling their wares right into the night. On the left of the hotel were streets of shops that apparently catered... Our family of five stayed here in adjoining rooms in early August 2011. We found the hotel staff helpful both on arrival and during our stay. The location of the hotel, in a pedestrian shopping area and connected to an upscale mall is fantastic. Being so close to shopping is wonderful when one has a few minutes and a few... More

First of, the location of the hotel is excellent for business and leisure travellers alike. It is right in the middle of the business district, with close proximity to amenities like supermarkets, shopping malls and restaurants. It took me about 30 mins to get to the hotel from Chong Qing International Airport. The ride cost me 50RMB, the check-in could... More

Did not stay at hotel but as we had half a day to kill before boarding the Yangtze/Three Gorges cruise we found this gem on the second floor of the hotel with its great weekday "all you can eat" buffet. At 98RMB (plus taxes) it represents fabulous value. We were able to graze the food on offer for a few... More

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 7 nights. We got some very good rates because we booked through China Travel Service in Hong Kong but that's where the good part ends. The service staff, especially the front desk speak almost no English at all, and in typical Chinese style there is only one person that can make decisions and... More

My wife and I had an overnight stay before boarding Yangtzee River Cruise ship. Hotel is smack in the middle of town and has most of the facilities you'd excpect from 4* although rooms were somewhat plain. Biggest problem is building noise from adajacent sites - Pile drivers and heavy plant makes it feel like your in middle of war... More

Stayed at the hotel for 6 nights. Good food, excellent service by restaurant staff. Very clean room, large and spacious. Would return. Bar not so good - expensive and paid double a few times during stay. More

Modern high rise hotel, a small Asian chain. Basic modern rooms, wood cabinets for closets, wood shelving, very basic bathroom, typical very firm chinese bed, flat screen TV on the wall, 2 club chairs in the room for seating, spectacular views from our 28th floor room. Centrally located if you are touring, close to shopping and pedestrian mall. Large dining... More
