Rainbow is a decent 3-star hotel. I stayed at the business suite 6 years ago by myself. This year,we've decided to take our 3 and a half year old son back to Beijing and booked into a double luxury room. In North America, beds are usually either double or queen size however, the double beds are both a slightly larger... More

This hotel was a great way to begin our first trip to China, the staff were extremely helpful, the rooms were clean, good bed and very comfy. There is an awesome family restaurant straight across the road which has awesome food. The staff were great to deal with and helped whenever they could. And oh my goodness the foot massage... More

This hotel isn't terrible, but it is way overpriced. The first drawback is its location. It is quite far away from everything and you're always dependant on taxis (which is hard when you want to come back). The beds are hard as wood and the quality of the breakfast is really poor. Finally, when we left, unexpected addtions came to... More

Hotel staff helpful and a few spoke English. Restaurant caters for westerners and reception area good. If restaurant is empty they shut them so eat early. Location 20 minutes on the bus and a few places to eat outside of hotel. Handy shop opposite for water etc. Bedrooms cleaned each day. Booked a tour to Great Wall and was told... More

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. Room was beautiful, complete with large bathtub! Wifi in my room as well which was a nice surprise. Bed was so comfy. Restaurant on first floor: good food and fairly cheap by Oz standards. Everyone I came into contact with spoke English. Not a great location, but I had a guide & driver so didn't... More

This was the first hotel we stayed at while doing the Chinese Checkers tour from On the Go Tours. We were here for 3 nights. Included free WiFi and Minibar. Floors were never cleaned while we were there, and from the dust and dirt on them it appears they were never cleaned properly the same can be said for the... More

Having read dire warnings about surly staff, filthy carpets and pervasie smoky smells,, we were prepared for the worst. In fact the hotel was nothing like this. It was clean and smoke free, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was decent, although we did find the bed to be uncomfortably hard - as indeed we did with... More

Rainbow Hotel -Beijing 1. Rooms : clean. Not very big, air-con not very good at all but it seems that in October many of the hotels turn their air conditioning off altogether. The rooms could do with a bit of paint, minibar supplies sparse but adequate, 69 TV channels but only 2 in English, Bit of hanging space in cupboard with... More

I think you basically get what you pay for with this hotel. The rooms were fairly clean but very comfortable. The bathroom was clean but a bit old. The hotel is in an okay location, you can get a bus straight to Tienanmen square. The buses are very cheap and they only cost 1 CNY. You could also get a... More

This was our first hotel stop on our tour, the hotel was not in the worst area, there were restaurants and shops near by to get drinks etc. The bedroom was an adequate size, large bed (hard but common in China), sleep quality and cleanliness of bedding was fine. There was a smoke smell in the room which wasn't very... More
