I live in WuDaoKou so I needed to put my visiting parents in a nice hotel, so this was the closest hotel that was nice to me. For China, the price to stay at this hotel is considered very expensive (like Four Seasons level), but at best, I would say that this hotel would rank with a very nice Ramada... more
I just returned from a 3 night stay at the Wenjin. Here are my comments: 1) The staff's english is "substandard" at best, if anything out of the ordinary comes up (which did several times for me) expect to run into challenges in communication. We stayed at Wenjin Hotel for 3 nights, after having stayed 4 nights at the ultra-central Hotel Kapok (they were booked thereafter, and couldn't extend our stay). I recently stayed at the Wenjin Hotel for business in January. The hotel is absolutely lovely. The rooms are spacious and clean. The location is not in the center of town but is near Google, Tsinghua and Peking University. It is also very close to some great restaurants and the subway station. At last, a hotel that does not only pretend to be high-class. The Wenjin hotel seems dead set on delivering what it promises. As I visited Beijing only for a week, and was very busy from morning to night, I can not rate all the "extras" available (lounges, restaurants, butler service...).
