There was a last minute switch between lodges , so we didn't knew what to expect from the Keekorok Lodge . Now , I must say that it was simply wonderful ! Stayed at Keekorok Lodge for 3 nights. Room was clean, gardens and grounds very well maintained and staff friendly and professional. Once the jewel of the Mara, now sadly is "just another lodge". Rooms are falling apart and dirty despite renovations in certain areas. Food is average with emphasis on a low budget indian menu. Same repeat of pasta with lack of creativity by the head chef. Sauces are too sweet but salads well presented. Hippo pool area needs attention. However...

Keekorok Lodge is a great place to stay in. The beauty about this property is that it is located in the Mara reserve & is not fenced. It has a beautifully manicured garden & the must see hippo pool (the walk is simply superb). Have an option of being escorted by the lodge security especially in the nights.
