After celebrating xmas at the Governers Camp we flew to Serena. It is wonderful, with a fantastic view, sitting by the fire looking out on Masai Mara. They have a great buffet - the food is really good. The staff is nice, the service is good, the shop is good and the rooms are very nice. We read about Serena,... More

My first trip to 'Mother Continent' Africa!and I couldn't have asked for a better experience to begin with. The trip from the airstrip to the hotel was barely 7-10 minutes and we had already begun our safari experience by sighting Elephant herds and Thomson's gazelle on the way. Perched on a small hillock with amazing views of the African Savannah,... More

Serena lodge is close to the serena air strip. I would suggest people to go by air than road. The important part of the the trip was the game drive. The drive was close to perfect. The guide was very helpful. We saw all the animals. More

As a travel agent I could not go on holiday over Christmas so I scheduled mine early December. Destination Mara Serena Lodge Masai Mara . Other than the usual case of encounter with the big 5 and a few wildbeests (I was late for the migration) Serena perched strategically on hills facing the great Mara River was quite ab experience... Our group arrived late in the day, but in time for dinner, after a long drive from Nakuru. The lodge cannot be blamed for the state of the roads, but be prepared for a long, bumpy drive. I would consider flying in next time. We were greeted with the usual wet towel and glass of juice before being shown to... More

We stayed in December. The restaurant is major need of renovation. The beds are nothing more than a foam mattress on a hard wood bed. No box springs here. Small rooms. A small pool. We took the night safari only to have the light burn out after 45mins in the middle of the park in car that has no glass... More

The location is fantastic - middle of the park and with a wonderful view of the Mara river - it is possible to watch the massing of the wildebeest before a crossing and go down in time to see this spectacle which is considered arguably " the greatest wildlife show". Very African in design but with all the sophistication that... More

Beautiful location in Masai Mara on top of a hill with gorgeous views. The Masai-inspired architecture blends perfectly into the surroundings. All of the meals were buffet style so there are always plenty of options for even the most picky eaters. We saw all of the Big 5 during our 3 night stay as well as a cheetah. The entire... More

It had been a very long day travelling from Lake Nakuru back through Nairobi to reach the highway which leads to the Mara. It took another 5 hours to reach the lodge after leaving the highway! The roads in the Mara are dreadful - prepare yourself for a very uncomfortable, bumpy ride. It was worth it! The Mara Serena Safari... More

What a view....breathtaking! You can actually view the famous crossings with binoculars from the lodge itself. The masaai manyatta concept used in making the lodge is great and really fits into the environment. Food layout leaves you mesmerised and is always delicious. service is great and we love the place so much that we have been there repeatedly over the... More
