A nice hotel. Much better than some of the brand-name hotels in the center. Once inside, you don't know that you are in a major city. It is like a colonial estate with gardens. Rooms are pretty standard fare, but the grounds are a oasis of tranquility. Staff is nce and friendly.

The hotel hosts the Spar Grill where you can eat the best pork in town! If you dine by the pool side there is plenty of great food to choose from but I loved the freshly made salmon. It is set in very beautiful gardens so the birds chirping makes it so natural.

Very nice place, great breakfast buffet by the pool. Felt very safe there. Nice restaurant. The traffic to and from the airport was very bad, happy to get out of the town and to Amboseli park and start of 12 day Safari. .

I stayed at southern sun last week. The ambience is good, very professional staff and food was tolerable. What was intolerable was the noisy environment - some party near the pool - couldn't sleep throughout the night due to that awful racket, surprisingly no air-conditioning in the room and whole load of free mosquitoes! The casino is good though.
