I had never been to a "Guest House" in Kenya and I came to Karina with some little apprehension which was quickly dispelled by the chef, Tony, who quickly fixed me a plate of luscious fruit even though I arrive at nearly 9 pm on a monday evening. He asked me when I would like to have my breakfast and we settled upon 8:30 am. I arrived at the dining hall to find everything prepared for me. Later a young lady came to my table to inquire if the accommodations were to my liking. This care and service was my experience to the end of my stay the following Wednesday. I will most likely stay at Karina on my next trip to Nairobi. It's a great place to escape the noise and madness of the city.

This is a great place to stay for one or two nights before you start your safari. In a quiet and safe area of Nairobi, the accomodation is roomy, the staff are lovely and breakfast is fine. It doesn't take long to get there from the airport. We got a little cottage again with three rooms (though there were only two of us!) with a lounge and a kitchen so we could make our own tea and coffee. Only one grumble - the beds are very very hard!

Karina’s Guest House is a great location in Nairobi with a security gate for a perfectly safe home base. Breakfast was served on time everyday and was yummy! The rooms were perfect for our missions team! We had plenty of room and enough bathrooms. I would certainly recommend Karina’s if you have an upcoming trip to Nairobi!

We arrived in Nairobi on an evening flight and our tour operator, Rhino Watch Safaris, Nyeri booked the Karina Guest House for our party of three as a bed for the night before heading off to Masai Mara early the next morning. Unfortunately one of our party was ill and we ended up staying for three nights. Our accommodation was great. We had a little house with a double bedroom with en-suite down one end and two bedrooms and a bathroom down the other where I stayed. It was a comfortable room and the bathroom had masses of hot water for showers. We also had a sitting room and a kitchen with fridge and hob. We didn't do any cooking but it was very useful to have the fridge for cold drinks etc. The gardens are beautifully maintained and breakfast was served in the building just next door. Lovely fresh food. A great place to start our trip and the staff were so friendly and helpful.

We stayed here on our first night in Nairobi as part of a two week safari arranged by Rhino Watch in Nyeri. We were one couple and a single lady and they gave us a little cottage which had a sitting room and a kitchen. Unfortunately my husband got very sick just as our plane landed from the UK, and he had to go to hospital the next morning. We ended up staying 2 more nights in Karina until he was well enough to begin our safari. The staff were very kind and caring, breakfast was good, and the gardens are lovely. We were glad of the extra space so that my husband could sleep and my friend and I had somewhere to sit. It is close to Supermarkets and shopping centres. It worked out really well for us.

I have spent many days over the years and love the atmosphere. Quiet, secluded. Nicest cottage in Nairobi. Wonderful food-Perfect respite after being "in the field" in Kenya. Staff is fantastic and strives to be helpful in any way possible. Even finding the perfect taxi driver to the airport. Bring a large team or check out the facilities for a wedding. Sweet location for a bridal party. Need tips for shopping for curios, just ask the stafff. Why go anywhere else?

I really enjoyed my stay at the Karina Guest House, my only complaint is that it was too short! Unfortunately we only stayed for 4 nights. The rooms were nice and well appointed. The bathroom was gorgeous and everything was very clean. The wall between our room and our neighbor's was quite thin, but this did not bother us as a member of the group we were travelling with was staying on the other side. The food was absolutely amazing! I had the most delicious tilapia served in a coconut sauce. Breakfast included made-to-order omelettes and homemade pastries comparable to a small triangular donut. I always felt secure as the guest house is located inside a walled compound with guards and a large dog. It is located in a very nice and secure area of Nairobi. The grounds and gardens are quite stunning.

We booked the three bedroom cottage which was excellent...two bathrooms and overlooking the immaculately kept lawn and garden area. We stayed there for a couple of weeks, and in between took a few days off to go on a few safaris. They kindly allowed us to leave the luggage with them in between during our excursion to the bush. The staff were amazing and always willing to help in any way, and Anthony (the chef) could cook up a great meal and all delivered to our cottage. The area is very quiet and secure. Being in Africa, electricity is often unreliable but they have backup generators. Shopping centre is a 5 min drive or 25 min walk, and Windsor Golf Club is just down the road if you want to eat out in style, or have a drink or coffee while overlooking the immaculately kept golf course and its lakes. Will stay there again...highly recommended

Stayed with a group of around 20 for just over a week and we all loved it! The food was great and the staff polite and always willing to help you out. The rooms are nice especially the separate house with a double bedroom. Very safe and secure with guard dogs patrolling at night, beautiful gardens in a peaceful area. Basketball net as well which we loved!
