very difficult to fault, even neglecting the fact you are paying a paltry £4 a night. the staff are very friendly, and show a genuine concern for their guests' enjoyment of the city. they will give you straight answers and can usually help with whatever needs you have. the tours on offer are reasonably priced, and the hostel itself is... Very nice hostel, small rooms but fair for the price. Free Wifi, intelligent friendly staff, central location. Stay here! More

For it's price and location, is a good hostel that I would recommend for backpackers honestly. This is a place where I met a new friend here. There is good WIFI here, and the rooms are simple nothing fancy. Just that there are a lot of stray cats outside the balcony. Otherwise I would rate is as 5 stars. More

Remarkably well placed right in the centre of Cairo with an excellently friendly staff. Don't expect luxury (have you seen the price), but do expect genuine hospitality and functional accommodation. I'd initially only booked a couple of nights (just in case), but instantly booked all my other planned nights in Cairo here. More

This is a nice hostel very close to Tahir Square, located in a strategic position of the city. The rooms are really small but clean. Most of the rooms have shared bathrooms whose cleanness depends on when you need them (if you go just after their cleaning - which I presume it's twice a day - it's ok, otherwise they... More

A rare find in Egypt - a proper backpacker hostel. In my opinion the best budget place in the whole of Egypt. Basic accommodation (what do you want on a budget?) but clean and really nice staff who are very helpful. Word of warning - don't rock up and expect to get a bed, book in advance. Nothing worse than... More

I stayed here for 2 nights when I came to Cairo this summer. The staff on reception were very friendly although not at all keen to speak arabic with me (I'm an arabic student). The room was very small but very clean and so quiet considering it is a 2 minute walk from Tahrir square. The terrace is a very... More

I stayed in Dahab Hostel because i travelled alone. And because i think a nice atmosphere is more important than luxury or airco. The six nights in Dahab were very nice, with a rooftop terrace where everyone meets and stays up for drinks & talks. Friends are easily made. Reception very friendly, speak perfectly English, and staff made simple breakfast... More
