This hotel is centrally located so a lot of sights can be reached with only a short taxi ride. Safe area so walking around shouldn't be a problem, restaurants and café in walking distance. The hotel itself is simple but of good quality, aircon is working and breakfast (no buffet - coffee and a plate with soft bread, mamelade ...) is okay. Good value for money!

There was nothing special or endearing about the Mayfair. The hotel staff was not rude. The rooms were nothing special. It would have been nice if the bathroom was a separate room but the walls didn't go all the way to the ceiling. Breakfast was mostly packaged breads with little fruit. The location was fine and the neighborhood was safe to walk around in the evening. It was overly priced for the service and room quality. Not a bad place to spend the night but definitely not a place that is going to win you points with the Mrs.

This is one of the cheapest hotels in Cairo. I found it satisfactory for the price. It's not the Marriot, it's not the Hilton. One of the viewers was expecting a lot for the price. The staff is very friendly. They keep the rooms clean. It's true that you're told not to leave money in the room. I didn't. But you don't worry about other belongings. I didn't have any problems at all. I had service with a smile. The breakfast was free. It could have been a little better, but it was free, and there's a very nice supermarket close to the hotel, so I'd buy yogurt and cheese over there. The hotel's in a good location. It's nice to be next to a supermarket. My room had three beds. I didn't really need that, but if you want to save money with friends, you wouldn't do too badly by staying here. It's clean and cheap. I did encounter the owner. Maybe he's not the friendliest person on the planet, but he wasn't rude to me at all. Anyway, I dealt with the desk staff. I talked to the owner a couple of times. I think it would be good if they could offer some paid laundry service. They would make money. I spent the money at a laundry place near the bridge. It's past an exchange place and at a place called Ramses Laundry. It says that in Arabic in red. It's on the opposite side. They could offer laundry services and offer credit card payments. They like you to pay in cash. It's very easy to extend your stay. That would be nice. But I was very happy to stay here.…

The owner is a rude and arrogant person The hotel is not responsible for belongings in the room There is NO PARKING Very bad service I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. For the price they gave us I was expecting at least a parking and a smart service. I will do my best that all the world know what kind do of a person is the " big boss" of this place.

The hotel is decently priced and offers all the good basics. While it would be helpful for the hotel to provide a few services, such as laundry and card payments, it still is a very comfortable place to stay. The staff are very helpful and the owner is very kind. I stayed for 10 days and really enjoyed my time there. I would definitely book this hotel again if I ever return to Zamalek.

I've been at this hotel for 5 days on my vacation in April, I liked it a lot, people who work at the hotel are super attentive, receptive, besides having good restaurentes nearby, and market clothing store ... and I'll return in September and will stay in the same me ...:) :)

This hotel is cheap and cheerful. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The rooms have a sort of old fashioned elegance which is pleasant. The rooms are cleaned every day and there are a superfluity of towels for the en suite bathroom. The shower is tight but eminently usable. The breakfast is the same every day but adequate and one takes it looking out over the beautiful garden of an even more faded mansion. We have worked for a charity many times in Cairo where we pay our own costs. This about as good as it gets anywhere at this price. We would definitely go back

The area of Cairo this is in, Zamalek, is the safest and cleanest area. Not to say Cairo is unsafe, Zamalek is simply very clean relative to other areas. The hotel is located on the 2nd floor of a building off a main transit road. A very clean, Western grocery is literally 30 seconds walk from the hotel, and great pizza (Thomas) is just a few minutes walk, as well as some great food joints and tea/coffe shops. The rooms are very quiet at night which is nice, and the showers work well. Breakfast is standard, just breads with jam and butter with choice of drink. I am giving May Fair a 5 because the price is great for the value relative to Cairo. In the United States, this is an average hotel.

Staying in Zamalek is 100% worth it and Mayfair is one of few affordable hotels there. The staff are sweet and helpful though take care to know who actually 'works' there and who is a 'guide.' The hotel itself is an old mansion (I think) and like most buildings in Cairo, could use a facelift. BUT, as I said before, the location is unbeatable. Zamalek hosts the BEST restaurants and Mayfair is close to two of our favorites- Cairo Kitchen and Zooba. Both have fresh, affordable food are really close to Mayfair. The rooms at Mayfair are nothing to write home about except for that they are big! We had a big, double room that opened out to a terrace which was nice. There was a big armoire, small fridge and a table with two chairs. However, the room was dingy and mosquitoes bothered us the first few nights. Though the rooms are cleaned every day (and cleaned well!), it's easy for the room to get messy/dirty bc of Cairo dust/grit and the flimsy curtain in the shower makes for easy leaks. Also, our shower was particularly cramped since the curtain takes up a bunch of the space. Breakfast (again) was nothing to write home about but sufficient. Hard-boiled eggs, bread, cheese wedge, packaged jam and butter, coffee or tea.…
