My tour began and ended at the Salma Hotel. It was not a great stay but not so bad that I would not consider the Salma on some future (but short) visit. I stayed at the Salma as part of a tour. Room, reception staff and breakfast were OK, but... the young woman who runs the 'internet cafe' in the hotel tried to massively overcharge me for some postcards and stamps; one of the servers in the hotel restaurant tried the same thing for a meal.

Just stayed at the Salma..All I wanted was a clean, safe room and that is exactly what I got. I wasn't expecting anything fabulous so I wasn't disappointed!. Egyptian ratings are very different from International Hotel ratings. Take one or two stars off the Egyptian rating to get a similarity to International ratings.
