First impressions as you walk into the hotel doesn't give it justice , tired looking but that's Myanmar hotels unless you have lots of money , my room was very small with ice cold aircon, fridge and a safe, nice and clean with a view of the train station and a comfortable bed, the best thing about this hotel is the... I organised a trip to Yangon with less than two month's notice and struggled to find anything in my budget that hadn't been reviewed as being too poky, had no windows or unwelcome visitors. Thamada Hotel cost more than I wanted to pay (about £50 a night for a superior twin bedroom) but it was the only place I could... More

To accommodate in Yangon is not cheap as we imagine. A double room in well center Yangon for $65 is decent. Quite near to main sights in the downtown. 10-15 minutes walk to Sule Paya and Bogyoke Aung San Market. The room is rather basic but very clean. The staff is also very nice and helpful. The breakfast is included... More

Decent hotel, large rooms but could definitely use a bit of paint and cleaning. Location is very good, staff could be a bit friendlier, but the bar downstairs is very comfortable and had a wide choice of snacks, drinks and wi-fi. Value for money is good given its Myanmar. Within walking distance of a good enough Italian restaurant and the... More

Not an outstanding hotel when compared internationally but very good option in otherwise very pricey Yangon. Old rooms are adequate and comfortable. Wifi is a little sketchy in some of the rooms, as is controlling the AC. But for USD 60 a night for a double room, its a bargain in Yangon. Very well located opposite the train station and... More

Due to lack of availability of other hotels I ended up staying here. The price was decent (comparatively with others in Yangon) but the location was excellent. Able to walk to downtown and Shwedagon Pagoda etc. yes it was a little bit dated but it was very clean. The staff were also superb and were great in helping me with... More

Built about a few decades ago, Seems never been renovated nor upgraded, believe it was a gift from USSR to Burmese socialist regime in mid 60's. Friendly service, exceIlent location, great price compared to nearby late model hotels (at test one third of the price). So, if you are a budget traveller, need a decent place to stay in Rangoon,... As has been said before an older tired hotel but clean and as well maintained as can be expected given its age. Breakfast fine in adjoining restaurant which is open 24/7 but the best features are the friendly helpful staff and the location. You can walk to most of the sights including the Shwedagon Pagoda. Stayed three nights on arrival... More

We got two days staying here at Thamada Hotel. Hotel location was okay within almost attractions nearby. Our room was relatively nice and cozy. The staffs were useful and they helped for arranging a city trip, too. Hotel breakfast was so so but still okay for tasty.

Just as has been said before, this is an older, tired hotel. The room was clean, the A/C worked great. There was no hot pot in the room for making coffee or tea. the room door was pretty flimsy, and I think the door could have been kicked in by a chihuahua. These rooms are not keyless entry. There was... More
