The place does indeed have the best price for the central location, but the place is literally falling apart. Broken bathtubs and old mattresses sit in the stairwells, windows are often wedged shut with cardboard, and the air conditioning has a mind of its own. Expect to have the temperature drop to artic levels at random some course in the... More

With limited competition in Yangon, it seems a lot of hotels in the city have no incentive to update their facilities. The rooms are worn, dingy and require updating. The food in the 24 hours restaurant is of fair quality but is overpriced. The location is good. Close to the rail station, Bogyoke Aung San Markets and Sule Pagoda.

Purpose: needed to purchase a train ticket to Mawlamyine and wanted to be close to the rail station for the early departure the next morning. Location: close to train station and downtown. Room: small with bed against the wall; wood tile floors bleached white need refinishing Bathroom: acceptable, but floor had pool of water by the tub. Breakfast: acceptable

This is definitely not a three or four-star hotel, but it's a decent, cheap hotel in Yangon. NO wi-fi (and the restaurant connected to the hotel is extremely overpriced), but if you need a place to stay for one night on a budget, it's fine. The room was mostly clean, although the shower leaked and the bathtub was very worn... More

We had a triple room, three twin beds. Room was large, fairly clean, in fair repair, (but this IS Myanmar). The staff was great. Location was walking distance to the Scott Market. The included breakfast was not great, but good enough.

I must say I went expecting the worst, after reading some bad reviews, but was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at Thamada, and quite pleased to see the rooms. We had 2 rooms and both rooms has more space than a deluxe room in a 3 - 4 star hotel. For anyone who loves more space than ordinary hotel rooms, then... More

The Thamada hotel is a reasonable The Thamada is a reasonable"2" star hotel close to downtown Yangon. It is basic with good sized rooms great bathrooms and that is the good news.On the downside it is very basic lacking the normal kindness and courtesy which is so typical of the locals. The cafe is expensive and the western breakfeast very average. As pointed... Is a very bad hotel. Is the worst hotel experience during one month ins surest Asia... I have asked in the travel agency a for stars hotel... The site is good, but inside... terrible. Not clean. We want a no smoker room. Hard smell... Only the bad is reasonable. The emergency exit is occupied by tubes. One of the reception... More

The basics are marginally okay, but the mood is depressing. This is a once-decent property in decline, with no rescue apparent. Dusty wood, old carpets, spartan funishings, and staff that just doesn't care and is sometimes brusque. Small, dark lobby, deserted bar/coffee shop, teeny elevator, lumpy beds, trickely showers. On the good side, the location is convenient to many things,... More

I stayed here for one night on two separate occasions. The room I had on both occasions on the 6th floor was fine, bed comfortable and air con working well. The bathroom was also fine though on the first occasion I failed to get any hot water. I found the reception lady rather temperamental, and although initially she seemed helpful... More
