Recently stayed at this over-rated and over-priced hotel. The room was pleasantly furnished but nothing special and reeked of cigarette smoke despite our demanding a non-smoking room. The rooms are comfortable, very clean, good maid service. Breakfast, at a 3 star level. Dinner very good, enjoyed the Chicken with Crabmeat and Prawns, a very interesting dish. Have visited this hotel twice in the last 2 months and really enjoyed the time spent at this hotel. As many people say, the Savoy Hotel manages to capture the 19th century essence of Burma with the modern amenities of the 21st century. The staff was helpful, the meals delicious and the location fabulous. Unfortunately our time here was too short but when we return to Burma which we will, we will definitely stay at the Savoy again. More
