it is well located and the front desk and lobby have a fancy style. rooms are big, have fridge, AC and cable but wifi sucks ... couldn't get a good signal. Furniture has and old style but is well preserved. Did not like the shower, they have hot water but the douche wasn’t good.

This hotel was the best part of Asuncion. It was clean and well located plus the pool area with room service was a pleasant surprise. Not impressed with the grill restaurant but the rest of it was great.

Hotel excelsior is one of the best five star hotels I've stayed in in terms of service and ammenities. It is a bit old, but it has great prices and all in all it's just a great hotel where you can have a very pleasant and comfortable stay in asuncion.

The hotel is build in 70's and looks like that it's still in same shape. Lobby is dark and not clearly structured. Restaurants and bars below average based on international standards. Breakfast is poor. Gym has extremely old machines. At least I got room about 40m2 including only bed and small table, doesn't feel comfortable, at least not for me.... More

I agree with everything the previous revewier stated. I would simply add that getting room service is very cheap, and we took advantage of that for breakfast. Overall the service was very good. We would stay there again.

Having stayed in the Excelsior for three nights in November 2005 I have to say that we were impressed with the overall service offered by the hotel.
