This is a beautiful place in the Candaleria District-Bogota. A very peaceful hostel with dorms and private rooms close to museums, etc. I would really recommend this place to a person or persons who want to go sightsee, then chill.

I just stayed at the Anandamayi Hostel at the beginning and again at the end of my trip to Colombia. I can only describe my stay there as " just wonderful " Last year when i visited Bogota i stayed in a party hostal which i also enjoyed but this time i was looking for somewhere more relaxing. The whole... More

Charming building in the Caldelaria district. However, when I arrived they tried to give me a room without a bathroom when I had reserved one with. This was rectified quickly but I had to carry my own luggage even though the young woman looked at my luggage and then at me. I was bringing a new backpack to my backpacking... More

Very quaint and quiet hostel. We enjoyed use of the common area with kitchen at this hostel and playing games near the wood fired stove while our food cooked. Avoid getting rooms near the road and entrance because they can be loud at the wee hours with cars zooming down the street. Another thing to keep in mind is the... More

This hostel is located in a 400 yr old building on the border of the rough south side of Bogotá. Large rooms, very cold at night, especially as the mattress covers are plastic. Lots of dark colors, guru images and yoga chant music. The common room is pleasant and warmed by a wood stove. Adequate cold breakfast buffet, rooms are... More

We felt welcome at this hostel from the start. The staff were very helpful, although at times a bit chaotic. (We were asked for a receipt we were never given, and when we wanted to leave the employee didn't know that we had paid the night before). Our private rooms were very nice and clean. One of us who stayed... More

We stayed here for four nights and absolutely loved it. We had a private room which was very spacious with amazingly comfortable beds, a huge TV, and plenty of storage space. It was quite chilly in Bogota and while there was no heating in the room every night the ladies would make us hot water bottles to use in our... More

I was a bit fearful of Colombia and instead had a fantastic time due to this hostel and the people who stay there and work there. Besides looking like something out of "Travel and Leisure" ( the owner is a Colombian artist), I met fascinating people who have since become friends. This is NOT a party hostel and is filled... We had called ahead to see if there were available rooms at this hostel based on the good reviews and they confirmed that there were and that we could come over to see them. We arrived and the woman at the front gate confirmed that there were available rooms and went to get the keys to open the front gate.... More

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Anandamayi for three nights at the beginning of a two week trip to Colombia. We arrived very late after travelling for about 20 hours non-stop. We were offered tea and taken to a large room with a v. comfortable bed and after passing through the busy city were delighted to find the Anandamayi... More
