We had a good experience staying in this hostel. The owner, Alegria is very warm and friendly. We happened to lose our room keys while we were here. We had to break the lock to get into the room and Alegria did not even charge us for the broken lock! How uncommonly kind! When we first arrived things did not... More

I loved my experience at this hostel. It's only a short walk to Bolivar Square and all the markets. There are also wonderful restaurants all around this hostel. Clean rooms. When I go back to Bogota, this is where I will stay. More

Lovely building, clean, comfortable, lots of communal space. Two friendly dogs, good showers, great location. The people working there did not speak English, but were very friendly and helpful. Just as we left we met Alegria, who does speak English and is super lovely, and incredibly knowledgeable about Colombia and other cities and hostels. We stayed in a private room... More

A cozy hostel at a traditional house with a friendly owner Alegria and dogs. Location - situated at very nice part of the old city of Bogota. Safe (at least during the day), quiet and nice area at a street full of small traditional colorful houses. Room - since it is a traditional Spanish house, some rooms have a window... More

So, when we booked, we didn't know there's 2 units of Alegria. We've been allocated to the second one. So, the reception was at first one, and the guy who attend us was very kind, gave us a lot of tips about safety and a map. Also he let us to get a early check-in for free. How we're on... More

Alegria's hostel is a very friendly, welcoming hostel where you feel immediatly at home. This thanks to the people behind the reception, the fireplaces in the rooms, the light and comfortable rooms and the whole homely atmosphere of the hostal-house! O yes and the included breakfast is delicious! RESPECT for the owner Alegria; una mujer muy chevre! Gracias para todo! More

We stayed here for two nights in the private double upstairs - possibly the best view you will ever have from a hostel bedroom! The room is a loft conversion and has huge windows looking out over Bogota. Amazing. The hostel itself is full of character as well. Recommended. More

We booked Alegria's Hostel on Hostelworld. However when we arrived they told us they were full so they would move us to Alegria's House which is in my opinion is a lot nicer than the hostel! They are literally a 20 second walk away from each and offer all the same facilities. Positives: -Probably the cleanest hostel we have stayed... More

The BEST hostel we have stayed at EVER. We booked a single room and were so surprised to get the nicest room we have ever stayed in with huge high ceilings and a gorgeous fireplace and clean wooden floors. Unfortunately this room got booked out so we stayed in the dorm which was still so good. The kitchen is excellent,... More
