We spent 4 nights at El Dorado. We liked the hotel and absolutely loved the location. It is set a bit away from the touristy area packed full of tourist booking offices (and tourists), but that neighborhood is still only a 15-20 minute walk away or easily accessible by micro. this hotel was built in the 60s and nothing has changed. The rooms are reasonably comfortable and warm but its very tired. All of the linens and towels are threadbare and chewing gum grey. Stayed here with a tour group. Nothing fancy (as one would expect) but perfectly fine. Clean and comfy rooms, helpful staff (arranged for a maintenance man to remove a broken padlock from my luggage in minutes). I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone who is not pretentious. Great, central location too (10 mins walk from Plaza San Fransisco). More

Threadbare rooms, though they changed us to a slightly better one. Decore was Soviet Union 1950's Difficult desk staff - insisted on us getting our passport and visa copied somewhere in town!!! Doormen helpful. Waitstaff helpful and attentive. No water to drink in room, had to call for towels. More

Not only for the great price I will remember my stay at this Hotel in La Paz. Beside the staff was very friendly and rooms clean had warm decoration. Simplicity means right when you pay a great value rate. I recommend this Hotel as a safe service is given. More
