I visited Sanaa for what was initially supposed to be a brief 5 day business trip in September 2011 but ended up being a two and a half week sojourn as a result of the unstable security situation causing numerous flight cancellations and airport shut-downs. All of this uncertainty was made palatable because of the family-like atmosphere and service I... More

I stayed at the Sheba hotel with 3 of my friends a month ago and found it good. The location is good with everything in walking distance from it. The rooms where we stayed in were clean and comfortable with necessary amenities. Nothing was fanciful here but everything was fine. The breakfast was good with variety in it and the... More

The style of the hotel is such that one would not necessarily know one was in Sana'a, i.e. the international 'could be anywhere' style. Nevertheless, it proved a perfectly satisfactory place to stay just 10-15 minutes walk from the old historic centre. The breakfast buffet was pretty good - plenty of fresh fruit, omelettes cooked to order, etc. We had... More

This hotel is commonly used for national conferences as well as international. Located in the strategic area of the city. Close to the Business District, and we can easily find shops and restaurants in a walking distance from the hotel. The Front Office staff we encountered to, named Prabu, was not friendly and slow. As we were recommended by our... More

OK. It is a good hotel, but not anything special. The lobby is nice and the rooms are good size and clean. The alcohol is sold, but at a crazy rate!

I hadn't been back to Yemen for 18 years, and had stayed at this hotel back then when it was part of the luxury Indian Taj group (some of the stuff in the hotel still bears the logo, eg the coat hangers, key fobs etc). Back in the early 90s this was a very luxurious hotel, and I'm pleased to... More

We stayed here for 2 nights in January 2006 before moving to the Movenpick. Overall it is a reasonable place to stay. It is quite a well established hotel. The staff were very friendly. Our main objective was to tour around Sanaa so we didnt spend much time in the hotel itself.

I was in Sanna and stayed at the Taj in January of 08 for 4 nights. Hotel is nice. Staff friendly. Fresh fruit in room. Breakfast buffet included, excellent. Great location. Be careful crossing the street. Rooms should have clock. The negative is NOT on the hotel, but on Sanaa. Squat toilets, if you can find them, extremely dirty. That... More

Nice hotel not far from city centre, you can walk from the hotel to the market and to old Sanaa. We stayed 2 nights at the end of our stay in Yemen. It was nice to be able to relax by the pool. The service is spotless and even though it's expensive, you get what you pay for.

There are only 3 hotels on Socotra and this is the best one--although it has nothing to do with the upscale Indian chain the "Taj". 'While the rooms boast air-conditioning and a TV (mine was still sitting on top of its box, unplugged! Note: you watch what the receptionist watches because there is only one remote for the whole hotel),... More
