Sana'a and Yemen are tough places so you want to stay safe if you must travel. The Sheraton is probably the most secure of all the hotels in Sana'a. Extensive security drill to enter the hotel and the building itself is away from the street surrounded by gardens. This alone made for a good night's worry-free sleep and that is... More

This place is not worthy of the Sheraton brand. I don't have the space or patience to list all the things that are wrong with this hotel. From the decrepid look that suggests no work has been done since the 70s to the undertrained staff, to the key cards that don't work after a day and the cats in the... More

I have stayed at a few more hotels at Sana'a but the Sheraton hotel is the best one out there. The management of this hotel does a good job. The staffs are very attentive and they are greatly helpful. I am not an easy to please person, but their genuine warmth pleased me a lot. The clean and comfortable room... More

Since the hotel is located near the airport, we chose to stay there. What we were not informed was that the hotel is also located close to the British Embassy, which made it heavily guarded. We were not allowed to take pictures almost anywhere in the neighborhood, only in front of the hotel lobby. The hotel is also pretty far... More

far past it's 'sell by' date poorly managed and dirty. outdated everything, awful food selection did not clean my room, the Club Lounge was a filthy joke with dirty plates and napkins everywhere. No clean cups or plates for their lonely offering of instant coffee and stale cakes many more employees than guests but nobody seemed to be doing any... More

Am quite familiar with this Sheraton and have stayed there quite a bit. Sana is a tough town, but if you are traveling there, the Sheraton is really the only place to stay. The Movenpick is a nicer property, but the service is very poor. The Sheraton's manager, Mazin Kaddora is extremely professional and runs the place very well. The... More

I stayed in the Sheraton for one week in July 2010 while I was in Sana'a for work. I was not pleased with the prospect of staying there given the commentary here, and tried to stay at the Movenpick, but as it turns out I was very highly encouraged to stay at the Sheraton by my work (for a number... Excellent Bar on the 8th. Floor. The singers and band were wonderful. I love the music selection.

I was already warned that the hotel staff may not be friendly and as such I did not expect much from them. The internal environment is rather old and not attractive. The hotel is indeed not new and showing its age. Buffet breakfast in the coffee house is acceptable. Hotel location is a bit isolated and not within walking distance... More

I booked the Executive Floor after reading the previous reviews of the rooms condition. To my expectation, the executive room is newly renovated but not up to the 5 star hotel standard. Poor finishing, broken power outlets, etc. The front desk staff (the locals and foreigners) provide cold service which is not a standard in Sheraton hotels. It was real... More
