My mother and I ended up staying at Beit Zaman given the situation in Syria. It had been out of our budget originally but we were able to stay there after most of the tourists had cancelled their plans. It was a beautiful Damascene home that had been converted into a hotel. Rooms were decorated with beautiful pearl inlaid furniture....

Charming old hotel in Christian Quarter. Staff went out of their way to make our stay memorable. The rooms are large and comfortable and everything worked. Gorgeous courtyards off each room offer a quiet peaceful space to relax in.
I enquired where I could buy the yummy Rose jam served at breakfast and instead of telling me where to buy...

Beit Zaman is a house in the Old City of Damascus, within an easy walk of the Roman Arch, the Umayyad mosque, the bazaar, and good restaurants. It is full of character and charm, with tasteful furnishings, many amenities in the very clean rooms, and a wonderful, helpful staff. Breakfasts are plentiful, with plenty of fruits and delicious miniature pastries....

Beit Zaman is located in the Christian Quarter of Old Damascus. The location is perfect for exploring old Damascus, as well as outside the walls, day or night. Shops, cafes, and restaurants are just outside its front door. However once you step inside you feel you are in a different world. The common areas are beautifully decorated with Middle Eastern...

I stayed here with my significant other and an 8 month old. The staff were the most attentive that I have experienced at any hotel, they went above and beyond all reasonable expectations of customer service.
The hotel is not a "cookie cutter" hotel that, if you close the curtains, could have you in any city in the world; you...

Lovely atmospheric hotel, great rooms and breakfast. Staff were all very helpful. The location is excellent for anyone visiting Damascus for sight seeing. We also stayed in the Four Seasons, but would probably stay here next time because it was, well, just more Syrian!

This hotel is perfectly located for exploring the alleyways of the old city. Situated in a renovated traditional mansion it has beautiful courtyards and both the rooms we had (we stayed at the beginning and end of our trip) were large.
Reception was always staffed.
As the rooms are located off the courtyards they can be noisy at night, but...

Once you enter this place, you travel 300 years back in time. Beautiful architecture, amazing place and excellent service. We spent most of our time at the hotel, be it relaxing in the lounge area, checking the Turkish Hammam or just wandering around the stairs and corridors or reading about old Damascus in the library room. The staff are super...

We arrived at this hotel straight off the flight to spend the first night of a tour of Syria. Our room was not ready and we had to wait whilst it was prepared - it was 1.00am. We were given an inferior room which was a single - they split the beds but there was only one lamp, glass, bathrobe...
