We stayed in the Falaj only for one night. It was not our first choice but as we booked quite at short notice and most hotels were fully booked we decided for Falaj as it seemed to be a good option. When we arrived our first impression was ok. What really made a difference were the rooms. I cannot remember... more

If you need a hotel near to the central business district in Ruwi and want a taste of traditional Oman, this is still a good choice. Whilst it is a little dated, everything is clean enough and it has a reasonable coffee shop restaurant and pool. A change from modern hotels. The bar/club on the top floor offer excellent views... more

Al Falaj - Muscat - Oman We stayed here as the joining point for a peregine tour. The hotel was basic and clean but nothing fancy. The location in Ruwi is kind of not near anything. Down town Ruwi is not somewhere you really want to go as a female. Its full of men standing around doing nothing on the... more

We stayed for 2 nights in this hotel as part of our Adventure Holiday Company tour of Oman between 18 and 28 December 2006. We had 2 different rooms and the previous review stating that the rooms stunk was not true for us and the bedding was clean. It is a very corporate hotel with little character, part of a... more

First off, I actually didn't stay in this hotel. We just went in to check the rooms and see if they were fine, but honestly speaking, the rooms stunk! Besides the smell, the bedsheets and the furniture were extremely worn out. The bell boy who came upstairs with us to show the room was one of the four staff members... more

We drove from Dubai to Muscat on a visa run and decided to make the most of the city and stay in a couple of places, what a mistake. Our first hotel was Shangri-La, extremely good and well worth a visit. Our second hotel was the Falaj. Described as the centre of town with good facilities and 4 stars. Perfect... more

This is my 3rd hotel review, as I stayed in 3 places (Al Bustan, Ramada, and Al Falaj) in Muscat and I felt this hotel offered the best value for money. For that reason I gave it a 4 rating. The Al Bustan, while a positive and memorable experience on its own private beach, was costly. The Ramada, while newer... more
