This hotel is built in a very old Arabic compound of buildings. The stile is Arabic - with arches, high ceilings and matching decoration. Some will love it, some less, but no one will be indifferent to it. Very nice Hamam (like a wet sauna, but bigger, decorated – you can ask for oil to massage your partner of yourself)... More

I like this hotel, i frequented it several times. It is built ona side of a hill, well it decends into a valley to be more percise so the lobby ( ground floor) is actually the top floor ! the reception area is wonderful . Big windows overlooking the valley and the old city walls. The outdoor Swimming pool is... More

We were part of a large Bar Mitzvah group & booked an executive suite. The place was old & dingy -nothing like the photo's showed. What was worse was the price paid of $648/night- in hindsight staying at the David Citadel would have been a much better choice. Position is in the middle of nowhere & if you want to... More

I stayed for 5 nights in December 2011 and found the Mount Zion to be a comfortable base for exploring Jerusalem. It's about a 10 minute walk up a steep hill to get to Jaffa Gate and Mamila mall. Certainly doable if you're a walker - it wasn't an option for my parents in their 70s, but taxis were easy... More

Very good location for access to the Old City and the German Quarter. A bit dated, but very well maintained and good service. More

The mount Zion certainly is not the closest hotel in Jerusalem, but it's close enough. Because it is set off the beaten path a bit, it is quiet and peaceful perched above the city. It attracts a more mellow group of visitors instead of noisy tour groups found in other hotels. The rooms are a bit dated, but nicely furnished,... More

Just came back from Israel and had a pleasure to stay at Mount Zion, which looks far from the Old City on the map in reality is only 15 min leisurely walk from the Jaffa gate. The place has a unique charm that is not available in a "chain" hotel. I can only imagine how gorgeous it is in spring... More

Having been a bit spoilted from typically staying at David Citadel, it is hard to pay $500/night for barely upgraded 1960's (maybe 70's?) decore with stains and fairly recent food particles on the carpet. 85% of things won't work - TV, shades, etc... Maintenance will come up, fiddle, make promises they won't keep and then you have to get Israeli... More

A very cute boutique hotel however we think it might be time for a review of the management of the hotel as we did not get the same impression as the guidebooks or traveller reviews. The reviews and the guidebooks all make out that the hotel is amazing however we found it to be average. The hotel itself is a lovely... More

Just back from a 9-day trip around Israel. Out of four hotels we stayed in during the trip, this one proved to be the best. Even though it's location is not too convinient, the property is very nice. Situated in an old building of 19th century eye hospital going down the slope of Mount Zion, the hotel features arab-turkish designs... More
