Ria is a most wonderful host always ready with a smile and any request is fulfilled promptly. The rooms are comfortable, clean and have good space, the hotel a short walk to the town centre. Apart from the mosque - which is very difficult to avoid in Turkey! - it's in a peaceful location. Thank you for a delightful stay.

The Akay Hotel in Selcuk, Turkey, is a place of sheer delight. It is located about a half mile from the center of town right next to the Isa Bey mosque and only three blocks away from the Basilica of St. John. If you walk four blocks down a side street you can catch the local bus which stops at... More

Paying EUR 50 a night for a crappy hotel like this (horrible reception, unprofessional staff, no hot water in the dirty and stinking bathrooms, dirty bed and linen... List goes on!) Stayed for only one of two nights (originally booked) and moved to Jimmy's Place (moderately better staff but a significantly better room at EUR 35)

Although this is an average hotel without major amenities, I found the staff to be over and above friendly and helpful during a terrible illness I encountered while in that area. The pool looks inviting and would be enjoyed during warmer weather I'm sure.

Our family stayed at Hotel Akay for 2 nights in October. We stayed at many hotels during this trip to Turkey and our choices were mostly based on TripAdvsior reviews. I am also reviewing the hotels myself and agree with their high ratings. However, this is one hotel that we were very disppointed with and can't understand the high ratings... More

We stayed at Hotel Akay for 2 nights in October. The staff were really friendly and helpful, lending us guide books and giving great advice on touring the area. The pool area was very nice; the water was a bit cold but refreshing after a hot day of touring the area. The room was fairly modest and the breakfast was... More

Very nice owner that will give you advice on when to best visit Ephesus or surrounding sites. Rooms are comfortable and the pool/patio/bar area is quite inviting. The dining area is on the 4th floor terrace and while it has a nice view of the adjacent mosque and at the right time of the year , the birds nest, the... More

We stayed in the part of the hotel that is connected to reception on the second floor. Overall the place is quaint a bit run down (again on the older side, the new side with the pool looks quite nice). Several things we saw, the coverlet has a lot of mysterious stains on it. The showers a bit small were... More

Hotel Akay has a very nice swimming pool with a small garden and a bar. It is very relaxing for a swim after a long day of walking around the places. Good to stay in the building wing where the pool is. However, other reviewers shared that there were noises from the pool and bar till late at night during... More
