Location:- a great location if your visit to Istanbul involves the great nightlife. Very close by the Tunel in Beyoglu and all the fantastic back street bars and restaurants, about five mins walk from Galata tower, 30-45 mins spectacular walk over the bridge to Sultanamehmet (and you can pick up one of the delicious fried fish sandwiches as you step... more

Eklektik Guest House makes you feel at home as soon as you get there; the owner and the staff are friendly, intelligent and interesting people, always ready to help out with questions and information. The rooms have all one needs, it is quiet and the location is wonderful. The breakfast was amazing. more

I have stayed Eklektik Guest House in mid February 2009 for 3 nights. This is a "guest house" which you cannot expect some hotel services but at home and friendly welcome. The place is conveniently located - close to Tunel and nostalgic-tram station as well as newly extended Sishane metro station in New City side. I got the "Red Room"... more

I found the staff to be stand-offish. The room was very dimly lit . The mirror was so old you could hardly see your face in it , eg. to shave properly. The toilet appeared to have been designed to provide ease of access only to very thin people. If you weren't among the first at breakfast you' have to... more

We spent 4 nights at Istabul's Eklekik and we would definately choose to stay there again, in case we are back at this part of the city. The atmoshpere is homey, the guys who run it or work there have a great sense of humor and we had some good laughs with them over breakfast, that is shared between guests... more

This gay-owned, gay-run guest house should probably be billing itself as "straight-friendly"! During my 10-day stay the people who shared the amply-laden communal breakfast table included gay, lesbian and straight couples, as well as a scattering of single gay men. They came from France, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, England, Israel, possibly elsewhere as well, and (in my case) Canada. Joining... more

I travel to Istanbul often for business and after a few missteps at the business hotels, I began staying at the Eklektik. Now, I cannot imagine staying anyplace else. The location is great, the rooms are adorable, and the owners and staff are the absolute best. Everyone is so helpful and they make your stay easy and pleasant. It is... more

This is a beautiful hotel. The owner is a very funny flamboyant guy, very nice and hospitable. The hotel is right in the middle of the historic centre of Istanbul. Each room in the hotel has unique feature and theme, the room we stayed was the Lavender room, all purple and every detail is thought of very well including fresh... more

Terrific place, wonderful people, great location. One gripe? The path leading up to the front door looks very dodgy and dirty. It seems as though it would be a simple matter to tidy this up and make it look as inviting as the rest of the place truly is. I can't recommend the place highly enough, otherwise. more
