Since 2005, we have repeatedly stayed at the Zeynep Sultan Hotel since it has a perfect location in the Sultanahmet district, a very helpful staff making your stay easier and more pleasurable. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. From the hotel terrace, the view of St Sophia is memorable. The hotel owner who is regularly on the premises from... More

On my first day at this hotel the I met the owner of the hotel. He extended to me and my traveling partner an offer to join him for lunch - a free lunch of homemade soup! This is the kind of friendly service you get at this hotel. I highly recommend this as a great place to stay in... More

Spent 8 days in the glorious city of Istanbul.Zeynep Sultan well located, safe and generally a good stay. At reception, the young man, Yusuf, is a remarkable guide and constant help in orientation. Truthfully, he made the stay in the city extremely valuable. Best to try for first floor rooms. Some of the higher rooms have difficulty with WiFi, if... More

We stayed in Zeynep Sultan Hotel for six days and I can say that it's everything we looked for. It's clean, the staff is excellent and very helpful, the breakfast is served at the terace with just stunning view. The location is perfect: in a small street where you feel very safe, in walking distance from all sights. It is... More

Of course, the main advantage of the hotel is its marvelous location in the very center of Sultanahmet which makes it easy to get to the main city sights any time of the day. The staff is very nice and helpful with excellent English. Breakfast is nice and the terrace where the breakfast is served is just excellent! The room... More

The staff are pleasant enough but the rooms are very small - which perhaps is standard for Istanbul? Small shower too but great water pressure and temperature. Breakfast was OK - limited, standards Turkish breakfast (hard boiled eggs, bread, olives, devon, cheese etc). Nespresso coffee was a nice change from instant. My biggest gripe was the supposed WiFi. I know... More

This is, in my opinion more of a backpacker place than a hotel. The rooms are tiny and old. The bathrooms, although clean are very, very small. Breakfast is meagre but the coffee is good. Do not beleive the pictures on the internet they are deceiving.

My stay at the Zeynep Sultan Hotel was pleasant enough. I'm not sure I would return, though, because I didn't sleep well at all. 1) Room: The room was small, but I expected that because I booked a single room. The furnishings are simple, and the bathroom is postage stamp-sized. I'm an average sized 5'3" gal, and it was a... More

We stayed in Zeynep Sultan Hotel for four days in April: everything was neat and clean and the service we received was excellent; but the best thing is the location: close to the Hagia Sophia, but in a quiet little street. We enjoyed staying there very much and recommend this hotel very highly.

The hotel is right in the heart of the old district of Istanbul, that is, you are going to be in walking distance from all the sights. It's a good hotel, with great staff and we had nothing to complain about. The size of the room is irrelevant since you are supposed to go out and about and visit the... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The cradle of civilization...Turkey...from Hitites to Urartus, Phrygians to Lycians, from Romans to Seljuks...they all lived here. A city that gave birth to and fostered three glorious empires...the East Roman empire, the Byzantine empire and the Ottoman empire...once the capital city of these empires, Istanbul is still alive and breathing a mystical blend of air, weary of the contemprary urbanization and cultural clashes. Zeynep Sultan Hotel is where you will blend a magical potion from a Roman hippodrome, an Egyptian obelisque, a Byzantine Church and an Ottoman Grand Bazaar. And maybe you will top it with the Blue Mosque or the Topkapi Palace... ... more   less
