My boyfriend and I booked two nights here but fled after one night due to a horrible night's sleep, a dirty room, and poor service. When we arrived, the receptionist was very confused (spoke almost no english) and we waited for ten or fifteen minutes while he figured out that I had made a reservation (and clearly our room was... OK- it is not a 4 star hotel. I was told by other guests, that had been coming there for years, thatit was previously a hostel, and they kept coming back because they enjoyed it. They were a retired couple, and enjoyed the place. I had a choice of a few rooms as the hotel wasn't busy. One was larger... More

It was my first visit of Istanbul with a friend. Considering friends experiences visting Istanbul on budget and their stories of dirty hostels we had a really lucky hand with choosing Moonlight Hotel for our 7 nights stay. The hotel is based within 3 min to the Blue Mosque and all the sightseeing but still not in the middle of... More

I am back in the moonlight after a gap of 6 months, and this place is even better than it was. The reception are superfriendly, management are great, the rooms clean, and there are always low season discounts. The location just behind the Blue Mosque is great, but the street quiet. I think the greatest change is the new receptionists,... More

Good staff. Good owner- tough, but honourable man. Staircase, yes a bit windy. Rooms absolutely spotless. Bogs spotless, beds good. Breakfast quite fine. Nothing special, but not small. Wireless in the lobby superb. Sultanahmet is like hong kong. Full of tiny rooms at astronomical prices. Other pensions are charging fortunes. These guys are still sensible with their pricing. Just around... More

Good: Great location, decent breakfast, wireless internet in the lobby. Not good: Steep spiral stairs, ugly rooms, hard beds with ill-fitting sheets, staff speaks limited English, kind of funky for the price.

The Moonlight Pension is at the very end of a street full of backpackers hostels and bars, five minutes away from Aya Sofia and the Blue Mosque. While being among the cheapest of all these hostels, it's quality standards are slightly lower and its location somewhat worse - it is the very last hotel of the street, there are no... More
