I absolutely do not recommend this hotel for families from Europe or America as they might try to blame your kids for damages that were already there when you came. We visited Istanbul for 2 nights during a roundtrip in Turkey in August. We were given two rooms, the kids staying in one room next to ours. The kids' room... more

This hotel was very welcoming and the staff very attentive. Rooms are small but fit for purpose. Central lift to all floors including breakfast terrace. Some of the unfavourable reports and their content was not experienced by us. The only downside was the hill up to the hotel from Gulhane station but this can be overcome by travelling to Sultanahmet and... more

Although the Albion is a budget hotel and centrally situated I would advise against staying there. I stayed for 4 nights and had around 8 hours sleep the whole stay due to the noise of people coming and going at all hours, the cleaners banging vacume cleaners at my door at 6am and generally shouting at each other for hours... more

Please be aware of this hotel, we booked on line and was asked for a deposite for one night. We duly sent the deposite, the hotel vendor said he would contact us when the money reached his account. He did not either contact us or meet us at the airport. Upon returning from the holiday he has refuse to return... more

This hotel is in a good location, but the bathroom was filthy. This hotel is very cheap, so I would say it was worth the money, but thats only because it was very, very cheap. The room was a bit run down, the window was broken, so that could have been a problem in the summer. I have added photos... more

Excellent location. English speaking helpful staff. Frugal breakfast. Till this point, all well. Rooms are a huge disappointment. Very small, barely leaving any space to stand or unpack the luggage. Bathrooms are even smaller and plumbing needs a lot of modification and modernisatioin. Overall rating - just average! rpopatnew@yahoo.com more

My sister and I stayed at the Albion for a week in late September. I really wanted to like it. The website looked lovely and the e-mails from the staff regarding our reservation were prompt and friendly. In fact, the two nice things I can say about this place are first, that the staff was really nice and helpful and... more

We visited this hotel in September 2005 and found it via the internet. The location was brilliant - around the corner is the Aya Sofya and Blue Mosque and the undercover and spice market are within walking distance. The hotel offers a transfer to and from the hotel which was very beneficial. The rooms are small and clean (basic)but adequate with... more

Stayed here for four nights at the end of May, while in Istanbul for the European Cup Final. Arrival was via a minibus which was helpfully organised by the hotel and for which there was no charge. It was about 30 minutes from the main airport (Ataturk) in light traffic. The first surprise was that the cost we had been... more
