We recently spent 4 wonderful nights at this hotel. Our son had a single room whilst my husband and I booked the suite on the top floor of the hotel. Our suite was totally charming --- as was the whole hotel. It was a wonderful place to come back to after a day spent seeing the sights. As mentioned in... More

We stayed at Ayasofya for 2 nights, on Dec 19 and 20, 2011. I loved the cozy, small room; it was very clean. The bathroom was tiny - barely enough space to turn around. The (twin) beds were comfortable and waking up to the sound of rain on the cobbled stone street and the call of the Imam to early... More

This fabulous find is tucked away in the historical narrow streets of Sultanahmet. It is the perfect location for your sightseeing as it is virtually in the shadow of the formidable Agia Sophia and a short walk to the Hippodrome, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and Basilica cistern. All the staff are extremely helpfull and will give you any information you... More

We stayed here during the last week of November 2011 and had a good experience overall! We had a small room which was okay for us and the staff was friendly. If you have any questions about where to go or see definitely ask and they will be more than happy to point you in the right direction. We were... More

Ayasofya Hotel was a real gem to find. The location could not have been better, only short walking distance to the major sights, but also tucked away in the old city Sultanahmet so you really felt the local experience. They have a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea which I loved relaxing with a glass of wine after a day of... More

Stayed a few nights in one of the Ayasofya hotel apartments -stunning view overlooking the sea and within walking distance of all the great tourist sites. Very clean and comfortable, with Turkish ceramic art displayed through hotel. Staff were ready to help at all times, and looked happy in their jobs. Gaye, the English-speaking owner was full of good advice... More

My partner and I stayed at Ayasofya and we had one of the larger rooms. It was spotlessly clean and had a nice bathroom. The hotel was also warm and cosy when you came in from the cold. We sat on the terrace for a drink which was enclosed and warm. Staff were friendly and helpful and the location was... More

We highly recommend the Hotel Ayasofya. It is located in the old city of Istanbul just a very short walk to the Blue Mosque and slightly longer to reach the Grand Bazaar - location is everything. The owner (Gaye from Australia) and her friendly team made us feel very welcome and were a great help providing information on local sites... More

We never got the room we booked, we never managed to find out why. Spent the first night in an annexe behind the hotel. The second day we moved back into the hotel, when we came back in the afternoon we were told we couldn't have the roof top room we booked - there was a problem. We were shown... More

This guest came via Booking.com and it is not possible to guarantee the top suite - of course if it is available we certainly allocate it but only the ground floor was available at that time. The first night they were allocated Apartment 3 located around the corner which is large studio type room with a lovely sea view -... More
