I booked this hotel through GTA travel and it was rated as 3 stars. I was horrified when I saw the room. Wallpaper hanging off the wall. Mould encircling the window and around the shower. The main light was just a light bulb, no shade. Electric wires were hanging out of walls and all electrical fittings were loose or not... more

We ended up at the Birbey Hotel as part of a tour. Location: Very dodgy. Not in a great part of town, we felt unsafe. Rooms: Very basic, beds ok, pillows non-existent. Bathroom, old and a bit grimey.
