I really liked this hotel for several reasons, location being the first! It is in a small, quiet street down by the bosphore, but just a few minutes walk from topkapi, hagia sofia, gulhane park, and the most amazing hammam and bath house I've ever visited (Suleymaniye hamam). There is a lovely courtyard in front with a breathtaking view of... More

The Sultanahmet Palace Hotel is an oasis in a very chaotic city. The staff are helpful and friendly. The breakfast is very good in the beautiful dining room overlooking the ocean. The room was quiet and clean, with a large bathroom. The bed was very comfortable.

I found this hotel on the net and chose it because it was different - an old sultan's palace with only 45 rooms (pity about the 3 flights of stairs to the room but worth the view). We looked out our bedroom window onto the Blue Mosque! The other side of the hotel looks out over the Bosphorus, a lovely... More

This is a lovely hotel in an amazing location. Breakfast was varied and plentiful; rooms were clean; staff were civil. Negatives: small rooms with little storage ; paint peeling on ceiling; awkward bathrooms. If you're a light sleeper, the 5 am muezzin call, through loudspeakers, could be a real problem. Air con was bizarre.

Wow what a surprise to walk out of the hotel lobby through a pretty garden to be greeted with the awesome Blue Mosque imposing into the sky. We could never get enough of this view and all lit up at night made us quite dizzy. The hotel was spotlessly clean and all staff very efficient and welcoming. We had a... More

Ideally located next to the Blue Mosque and a short walk from Aya Sofia and Sultan's Palace, this hotel is perfectly adequate, with friendly staff and a good dining and breakfast service. The rooms are on the small side, but comfortable and equipped with unique little bath rooms with heated tiled walls and seating in the shower! Staff were friendly... More

The hotel is a beauty in and of itself both inside and out. The rooms are adequately sized, clean and light. Our room had a lovely balcony overlooking the Blue Mosque. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had a delicious breakfast each day in a scenic dining room. I would highly recommend this hotel because aside from all of... More

Spent three nights at this hotel on returning from touring Turkey. Free transport was provided one way from airport to the hotel. The first night was spent in a small room on the upper level with a balcony overlooking the Bosphorous. The hamam style bathroom was miniature with frequent water closures. After complaining about the water problem we were upgraded... More

Looking for something very special for your stay in Istanbul, then the right choice is this hotel; Sultanahmet Palace or better Sultanahmet Sarayi to use the local name ! Elegant building in late ottoman style with charming garden by the entrance. We have stayed there a number of times during the last 10 years, and the hotel is also the... More

It was our first trip to Istanbul and we stayed at this hotel after having read a few reviews etc. We were quite pleased with our experience there. First of all they include free airport pick up which is quite nice. Our room was as expected, but with a fabulous view not expected! To the left the Balsphorous! To the... More
