Good family room, nice staff and great breakfasts on the roof terrace. Don't eat at the Chinese restaurant round the corner opposite the local shop - hideous food and they add loads to the bill!

I just tried the terrace: nice tea which came with small sesame muffin and Turkish pastry. Fantastic views over the Bosphorus and the Blue Mosque!

What more can you say? The Turkoman does not try and be a 5 star hotel but who needs to be when your room (and the rooftop breakfast) looks straight out on the Blue Mosque. It is clean friendly and quaint; and with so many restaurants within a stone's there is not need for an in hotel restaurant.

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Turkoman for 3 nights on a November stopover in Istanbul on our way to Chicago and we were very happy with this choice in Sultanahmet. We stayed here for four nights as a family of four (2 adults two teenagers). It would be hard to find a more centrally located hotel in the Sultanahmet region - one of the best museumes is literally three metres away on the other side of the road.
