What a cosy place! What warm-hearted staff! This place is very charming and clean. The beds are comfortable - good sleep. The owners are responsive to every question at every time. My friend and I were quite amazed. Breakfast included a good variation from salty to sweet. Loved the fresh orange juice every morning. I can strongly recommend that place.... More

I stayed there for three nights with a friend. It was a pleasant stay in a beautiful hotel with lovely, friendly and very helpful staff/owners. The gave us recommendations for interesting spots to see, a very good address for a hamam and helped us to organize our trip back to Switzerland. Breakfast is delicious, service extremely friendly/good and the rooms... More

I am giving Kumru five stars, as overall it was a really great experience. It's a wonderful place to stay for any first-time visitors to Istanbul. Owners Melissa, an expatriate American and Abdur, her Turkish husband, were warm and friendly and went out of their way to help with recommendations, etc. When we had restaurants we were interested in visiting... I stayed free at Kumru Hotel for 2 days with my 3 friends last week. They are very friendly and the hotel is absolutely excellent. It was like a dream!

This hotel is new, clean, with modern furniture (I think the owners love green and this colour gives joy) and located in a quiet area of Sultanahmet very near main tourist attractions (just 10/15 mins walkins from Blue Mosque). Breakfast is not continental, but this is a little familiar hotel where you can find both sweet and salty food and... More

Thank you for your comments and sorry you were disappointed. We are not nor try to represent ourselves as a 5 star accommodation. We are a small family run boutique hotel. We feel we offer higher than average service and accommodation but obviously we fell short of the mark for you. We apologize if there was any miscommunication about our... More

Two friends and I stayed at Kumru for five days. I would definitely recommend this hotel as a base for a trip to Istanbul. Very friendly owners, who were more than happy to help us with recommendations and further planning of our holiday, and extremely comfortable rooms. The homemade banana bread at breakfast was particularly good!

We just returned from a five night stay in Istanbul at the Kumru Hotel which was fantastic. The location is perfect for walking through the quaint cobbled streets to all the main attractions of the Old City, yet it is not right in the center of the tourist area so you can still feel like a "traveler" when you walk... We absolutely LOVED Kumru Hotel!! The owners, Melissa & Abdul, were so incredibly helpful and accommodating. They helped us plan our itinerary for the weekend, printed out maps to help us find our way around the city, gave us recommendations for places to eat, and were overall FANTASTIC hosts. The rooms were clean, good-sized, with large windows to let in... More

We stayed in March for five nights at this wonderful and newly opened B&B. The location is just perfect. Though it is in walking distance to major sights, the sea, and the tram, it is still far enough away from the main tourists-trap-area. The small cobbled streets with their old houses have a quite unique feeling and it was very... More

Thank you so much for your kind words about our hotel and our services. We do try hard to make every guest feel comfortable and secure and to assist in anyway we can to help make their entire trip to Istanbul or beyond a memorable one. We are newly opened and have a few additions coming as you mentioned. When... More
