This is a fine hotel - staff is excellent, breakfast is good, and the location is perfect (but mind the muezzin of the adjacent blue mosque whose call for prayer will wakeyou up at about 4:50 a.m. during summer!). We found, though, our "deluxe" room to have a poor quality/price ratio: For 180 Euros per night you expect much more... More

great welcome -had to wait for the hotel cab for 20 minutes at the airport but then it was good when it came. Welcome was exceptional. we were offered coffee but there was a problem when we accepted as it was only turkish coffee, sugar laden and even when i explained i cannot eat sugar (diabetes) this was a problem... There are a lot of hotels in Istanbul which makes the decision so much harder. After a lot of research on TripAdvisor, my husband and I finally decided on the Hotel Djem for our mid-April trip. We arrived tired, but excited. The first thing the gentleman at the counter did was sit us at one of the couches to relax,... More

Was a bit skeptical about this one, but all doubts melted away as we checked in. At the base of the hill that leads to the Blue Mosque, the taxi drops you off at the door & you are greeted with Turkish tea & sweets ~ a delicious welcome nibble! The staff are very friendly & happy to guide or... More

My husband and I spent 3 nights at this wonderful hotel. It is centrally located on a quiet street right off the hippodrome. The room was spacious, clean and tastefully decorated. Breakfast was included and had a nice variety of breads, cheeses, sweets, cereal and fruit. The hotel is right next to the Blue Mosque so the morning call to prayer... More

My husband and I stayed two nights at Hotel Djem in May 2011. The remodeled old house used to be an art gallery and several unique pieces decorated the walls of Hotel Djem. Walking in was a visual delight, with lush colours and a very warm vibe. Our room was the blue walled doubled that overlooked the street. The room... More

Our 4 nights stay last September at the Hotel Dejm was excellent. The hotel is small and charming yet provided first class service. Every day we had yummy, fresh breakfast with hot tea and sweets during day. Mr. Faruk Tekin (the owner) and his team were great and did everything to make us feel at home. After first night of... Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main visitor's attractions of Istanbul, Hotel Djem gives a peaceful escape at the end of the day. Beautifully remodeled old houses in one of the best quarters of Istanbul, Sultanahmet, within close walking distance to the Archeological Museum (a full day visit), the Grand Bazar and Egiptian (Spice) Market, The Hippodrome,... This weekend we stayed at the apartment on the first floor and I can definitely recommend this location for everyone. All the major spots are within walking distance, nice restaurants and bars are around the corner and ... having said that .... it's the most peaceful and quiet spot you can imagine. A big thank you for the housemaster Farouk... More

We've made several trips to Istanbul and have ended up at a different hotel every time: each one has had something in its favour and something that could have been better. At Djem, however, we finally found our ideal Istanbul hotel. First: location. The hotel is literally right next to the Blue Mosque. Steer clear if you don't want the... More
