Spent 2 days as family of 4 with Kulu Safari. This was our first safari and didnt know what to expect, but our camping expectations will never be the same. Due to heavy rains, we were unable to stay on the original campsite along the river, but the set-up next to a pond was geat and enjoyed listening to the... More

As the location in the park was temporarily changed away from the river due to the previous floods the camp didn't have the view I understood the normal camp has but it was set up nicely in the woods. The tents were not luxurious but of good quality and very nicely set up. The food in the camp was great,... More

My wife and I visited Sri Lanka for the first time in order to attend a friend's wedding and while we were there we decided it would be good to spend a couple of days on safari. So, based on reviews here and personal recomendations from friends in Sri Lanka, we chose to spend a couple of days in the... More

We recently booked to go on a two day camping safari with Kulu Safari's in Yala Game Park in Sri Lanka. Sadly Mother Nature intervened and sent totally unexpected torrential rain which washed away the camp site we would of stayed in. Despite this Kulu Safari's did everything they could to make our holiday as good as it could be... More

We spend 3 nights with Kulu Safaris in Yala National Park Sri Lanka to photograph wildlife especially the Sri Lankan leopard. We had excellent sightings, great company, great food and first class service to top up our total experience You can view photographs of leopards, birds and our activities on blog : http://www.phototravelasia.com More

From the moment you step into one of those Land Cruisers, you begin to realise that Kulu Safaris really are a cut above. My 3 nights were spent at the Yala camp and after a short drive through one of the most beautiful locations imaginable, you're greeted at the riverside camp with a G&T - this, just one example of... The 2 nights that I spend at Yala with Kulu Safari in 2010 were the best 2 days I have ever spend in a jungle. It was fabulous, the location was top notch right in the middle of the jungle (many kilometres away from the main entrance, so we were in the core zone) besides a stream. The tents were... More

We spent two nights at Kulu in Yala national park in November 2011. It was magnificent. Nobody should expect a luxury tented safari with ensuite bathroom and minibar in the tent as for example in Botswana or Tanzania. The tents are more down to earth, the toilette is a tented camping toilette and the shower is in an extra tent... More

Kulu means “buffalo” and “wild” in Singhalese and we loved the wild side of Kulu Safaris. In the tents near the river you are really close to nature but you always feel safe and get the best service you can imagine. The food was excellent and in the camp we really had the best sri lankan meals during our whole... More

Yala National Park is huge. Most of the accommodation is outside the park gates, as well as loads of jeeps offering safaris. The drive into the park takes around 45 minutes. The park is divided into blocks with the public only being allowed into Block 1 and the animals free to wander between the blocks, as they wish. Inside the... More
