This is not really a hotel as it's camping but before you panic let me say that it's not camping as I knew it and was truly the best experience I have had on holiday in a long time. We were right in the heart of one of Sri Lanka's marvellous national parks, elephants roaming, crocodiles, all manner of birds and other wonderful animals including Leopards...staying in luxurious tents (huge, well appointed, fit a double camp bed), eating under the stars and sleeping by a beautiful river where elephants crossed before our eyes. The staff and team at Kulu Safari were very knowledgeable about the environment and animals, but also looked after us like royalty, cooking up amazing meals and the best wine we had on our whole holiday. Although it is camping, there was a hot outdoor shower and even the loo was not basic at all. We had torrential rain in the rainy season and it was still easily the highlight of our holiday.
