I've stayed here many times before and after the unplanned "remodelling", mostly because of a corporate deal. It's fine for business, and as secure as it can be given the times. All the rooms I've stayed in have been nice, clean, reasonable internet and TV etc. The outdoor pool seems to have gone, but it was underused anyhow. The business... more

I'm trying to find reasons to stay at the Marriott instead of the Serena or the guest houses available in Islamabad, and not coming up with many. The cost difference is negligible between it and the Serana. It's fine. I'm just not sure it's worth the money. The rooms are not as spacious or luxurious as the Serena, but are... more

The Islamabad Marriott is definitely reopened for business. After a soft opening in December 2008. The hotel is almost fully repaired, and as of 7 January 2009, only the front lobby bar is still undergoing renovation inside. Otherwise everything is back to full strength. The front of the hotel is still undergoing construction and has temporary marquee type entrance and... more

There is a thin line between a 5 star and a 4 star hotel. In this case, there are so many thin lines that they combine to move ISB Marriott down to a 2 star rating. The hotel is clean, the beds are comfortable, the staff are very accommodating. (Though one gets the feeling often that they are much more... more

Stayed for 2 nights. Service was certainly not up to 5 star standards. It took 4 phone calls to the front desk and ultimately a visit to obtain a password for the Internet. In every phone call I was assured someone is bringing the slip with the password right now, 45 mins later I had to go collect it myself.... more

This hotel has an excellent location and brilliant rooms. Most rooms have plasma tvs and a facility to plug your laptop into this fairly easily. Restaurants are good and I am sure the bar in the basement is well documented! Security is high and reassuring if staying in ISB as a "westerner". more

There are only a few hotels in Islamabad with adequate services and security to accommodate international travelers. The Marriott is one of them. With limited facilities in the city for outsiders and legitimate security concerns in light of recent events the Marriott tries its best to provide everything in house. The E-rooms provide a computer and broadband internet connectivity. The... more

We stayed at the Marriott Islamabad for a birthday weekend in November. After negotiating security (polite but comprehensive!) we checked in to our executive room. It was very comfortable and well appointed: an excellent bed, large television, fast Internet, clean bathroom. The hotel offered complimentary use of the mini-bar (non-alcoholic), a fruit basket, toiletries and a chocolate cake and flowers... more

Stayed here twice with work. First time Nov 06, terrible experience at check in, but the Chinese Prime Minister was staying, so the over booking should be overlooked (tho we did get our rooms eventually). Then again Feb 07. Amazingly comfy beds - ask for floor 2 or above, they these rooms have been refurbished. Massive plasma screen TV's. A... more

It's very expensive. Security is tight, and that's important right now. The facilities are good. I stayed on the executive floor. The wi-fi was slow & should really be included in the overall price, when the basic is over $300 per night. Food fine, good choice at breakfast. Excellent service by stff on the exec floor. more
