Hayley Brown was spot on. This place isn't 5star but we found it to be clean, comfortable and most importantly for us...quiet. The pool was divine. The best thing about Manoly, however, was Guay (Pronounced "Gway" ) our receptionist,/waiter. He was courteous and helpful, absolutely mad for Man U, and while he may appear serious, underneath lurks a dry and... more

I had booked one of the top hotels in Vientiane but since this was the last part of my three-week holiday I decided to save some cash and changed my reservation to Villa Manoly. I am very glad I did. The place is awesome, full of character, calm, at an excellent location. The rooms and the bathrooms are huge (at... more

We had a reservation (which was reconfirmed a few days earlier) at Auberge Sala Inpeng. We showed up and were told they didn’t have a room for us! With no apology, they suggested we go to Villa Manoly. The person at the desk called Villa Manoly and arranged a reservation at the same rate ($30). He then called a taxi... more

We ended up staying here by default, the hotels we wanted were all booked. When we arrived there was no one at the desk and we waited for some time for someone to show up, then he seemed surprised we were there and wasn't sure there was a room reserved for us, finally it was straightened out (after he disappeared... more

The room did not seem particularly clean but it would have been hard to tell exactly because of the bad lighting. We had a problem with mosquitoes (no mosquito nets!) and the bathroom was in need of some works. We stayed only a night because we couldnt find anything else and for a night it was okay but I wouldnt... more

This was such an amazing find. Very cheap at $28 dollars a night per room (we had a large twin, with en suite bedroom and a funny little kitchen). The room was enormous, and had great air conditioning and (amazingly for this part of the world!) a HOT SHOWER!!! Waow!!! :-) The room and beds were absolutely spotless. Gorgeous wooden... more

The garden will draw you in at this beautiful guesthouse. Like much of Laos, Villa Manoly seems lost in a former decade, but that is part of its charm. It is directly behind a small monastery, and you can hear the temple drums early in the morning. You simply have to experience it if you want to have a peaceful... more

Spent Xmas here, very nice large rooms, a little bit dusty and slightly run down but definitely not dirty, wooden floors and small balcony, large comfortable bed with white clean sheets, small swimming pool in the garden filled with flowers. A nice 15 minute walk along quiet streets in the shade of big trees get you to the centre where... more
